Earthquake!

Off to look at the link...

I've dealt with those before.. they are unnerving...

PJ is down where 3 fault lines are in the state... :) I can only imagine how she will react!!

Gracious in Maine..and 4.5 that's pretty significant for that area.. isn't that very uncommon for ya'll???

Yes, got my heart pounding. My computer monitor and desklamp shook, as did I. Thought someone drove a car into my house.

Some reports are 4.5 and some are 4.6 either way NO THANK YOU!!!

The last one I remember was like a 5.2 and it was at like 5 in the morning. Mayber 8 years ago? I just rember standing in the bedroom door way upstairs trying to run down them cause Levi was freaking out! Tonight he's like Ma it's and eathquake relax. Really nah don't think that will happen anytime soon.
I thought the hotwater tank or wood furnace was blowing up with the roar it made.

It is uncommon, the most we get are ones in the 2.0 range.
We aren't able to handle big ones as a lot of our buildings are old and aren't built to withstand huge quakes. Don't think it's that big enough for major concerns. We just felt it a lot more than usual.

I hear ya..doesn't matter how big or small.. the whole feeling of a rumble is enough to un-nerve anyone!!
I know the one we had a few years ago.. I felt it.. woke me from my sleep..and I went running upstairs to check on the kids.. and flipped the tv on as I sprinted thur the family room.. Kids asked why I was waking them up by shaking their beds.. I hadn't.... they were not happy with the idea they had to get up that way on a school day.

Thanks for answering.. I didn't recall hearing about them often in that area of the US.. The thought of those older, historic buildings would worry me.. Hopefully any after shocks will be minimal.. (fingers crossed).

Nan they are unusal but seem to be becoming much more common. I swear there was a recent 2. something with in the last few months people were talking abt. I didn't know maine had a fault line. Most of them seem to be new york.

I was in California in1994 when a 6.0 hit in the middle of the night. To say I was a little freaked out is an understatement. We had one here in NJ last year and I had a panic attack at the pep boys and the guys looked at me like I was crazy. They even evacuated the mall across the street. Not my favorite of mother natures doings.

I felt it! I thought Meezer was sharpening his claws on the end of the bed :rotfl2: I yelled at him to stop it, and then Morgan came tearing upstairs "Did you feel that?" I said, "Well, it was either an earthquake or a truck going by." DH didn't feel it at all.

scary! hope there isn't any damage!

had lots of little ones when we lived in CA, mostly see my drapes sway or a bump feeling...we do get them here in WA sometimes too, mostly 2.0 - 3.0 so we don't really feel them!

OMG it was really quite scary .. I live only 20 mins from the center.. no damage to us or our moblie home thank goodness and not hearing too many reports on other damage.. they did downgrade it to 4.0 but still.. I can now cross earthquake off my bucket list.. LOL
