So who else was shaken awake this morning?

1am and our house in North Oxfordshire shook quite violently for about 5 seconds, waking me up in the process.

Reports are that the epicenter was located 15 miles NE of Lincoln and the "quake" measured 4.7 on the Richter scale.

That was scary enough for me - how do you folk in California and the like cope?

Maybe I'll sleep under the door-frame tonight :scared1:

I was woken up by the earthquake too, it frightened the life out of me :scared1:

It woke me as well ! out tv ariel thats not plugged in slid off the tv :scared1:

the kids slept through it !

me too, woke me up, dd slept though it!

It woke us too. I thought I was going mad! I was quite scared actually!

The girls just said they felt it too, but Paul slept through it (typical :rotfl: )

:lmao: John was a work in rugby and they felt it quite heavily, that might have something to do with the fact they were wide awake though ;)

We were much too close to the epicenter for comfort! You could see lights all over the village coming on and our neighbour went out to check things for us. Whole house shook!

Considering I am in Manchester and nowhere near the epicentre, it was amazing how violently the house shook. It woke us up and I couldn't work out what was happening!

We're just outside of Banbury and we shook violently too - I was amazed when they said the epicentre was so far away. I dread to think what it was like in the Lincoln/Grimsby area.

I've never experienced an earthquake before and, although I guess this wasn't big by American standards, it felt strangely exciting knowing that it was a quake (and that it was small enough not to cause harm!).

It does make you feel pretty small and helpless though doesn't it! :guilty:

Never knew anything about this. Obviously didn't make it up to Glasgow:)

I slept through it.

I sleep through most things like when an ambulance came to take my Mum to the hospital.

Didn't feel this one but i remember the one we had in the west mids a few years ago, thought the radiator was coming off the wall!! That was a big one by the uk standards. Hope everyone is ok no damage to their homes.

Im so glad that is WAS an earthquake! I really started to think I was going mad! I was up last night when I happened but my GF was asleep and it didn't wake her up. This mornig she thought I was loosing the plot when I told her what happened!!

we had one here in Donegal last week said it was the after shock from Norway

I was up awake at work in Burton Latimer and I didn't feel a thing. My mother said she did though. Blast missed another earthquake again

:confused3

I was awake down her in Portsmouth but I didn't feel a thing. Hope everyone is ok :wizard:
