What do you do when your child has just gotten their ears pierced (can't remove the studs yet) and you have to go through the metal detector at the airport? My niece's DD2 just did and they'll be flying out here in a few days!

Thanks!

I don't think it will be a problem. I wore my earrings through security and never even thought about it.

I have never had my earrings set off a metal detector. I was even at the courthouse recently and they didn't set it off. But my shoes did!!! :)

I don't think this should be a problem... I've flown tons of times and never had to remove my earrings.

Never had to remove jewelry, other than my watch. I think she'll be fine.

Wow, thanks for such quick replies!

My DD13 was wearing a sundress at the airport in Bermuda a copule years ago and it got set off! They had to do the complete search (leaving the country of course, perfect timing) and the hand detector kept going off over her back. It wasn't until they were ready to do a strip search they realized it was only her zipper!
