I know there are going to be those who loved them and those that didn't but I wanted to see what the general feeling was. I was hoping to use them for my 20 month old and 4 year old. Thoughts?

I tried using them when DD was 2 1/2 and four years old, and she didn't like the sensation of having them in her ear. When she was 2 1/2 I gave her a binky to use and when she was four I gave her some sugarless gum to chew. Both things worked well. However, the adults used them with no problems.

I have 3 kids, but only my DS8 needs Earplanes. They work really well for him. My DD10 and my DS2 have not had any issues with their ears and flying.

I tried to get my DS to wear them when he was three with no luck. I am going to try them again. Good luck!!! I love them myself and will not fly without them:thumbsup2

We used them on our kids for our trip in March and they worked great. I wish the kid in front of us had a set on that trip - her ears started bugging her about an hour into the trip and it was awful.

We've used them for our kids and I think they work well if they leave them in. However, when my DD was 2 she kept pulling them out repeatedly so they didn't work so well.

I bought sippy cups with straws for them last time and that worked well as they were drinking and swallowing.

Good Luck!

They worked well for my kids. Make sure you get the kids size, the adults are uncomfortable for them.

I used them for my 5 year old this past may. I bought the ones for kids. We used them on the way to FL and he didn't complain about his ears at all. On the way back, 2 weeks later, I forgot all about them. He was crying in pain during the descent and landing. I will definitely use them next time!!

You might have luck with the 4 yr old, but the 20 month old might be better off using a sippy cup of juice/water. I've used them myself and love them, but they do feel a bit strange at first so if your 20 month old has never had to use earplugs, he/she will most likely want to play with them and pull them out.

I was thinking the same thing!

We used them for our DD12 on our recent international flight and they worked really well. She had never had trouble with her ears and flying before but had a sinus issue which put pressure on her ears. Now she won't fly without them!

My DD16 loves Earplanes. She has not flown with out them yet. Like other posters have said, it may be uncomfortable for the 20 month old. As a side note, it definately reduces your hearing levels by much. Also, earbud headphones obviously don't work, so if your DD 4 plans on watching a DVD or something, make sure to bring/find the regular old fashioned headphones that cover the ear. HTH!

My son's first flights were painfree, but at 3 he started to hurt. I found earplanes, and he says that they work very well. He doesn't really care what they feel like, because the discomfort is better than the pain he can feel without them. Definite thumbs up from DS.
