In Sept. I earned $150 for participating in a bank focus group in the metro New Orleans area. I had to have bank accounts with Capital One and I had to qualify first. It was scheduled from 9-11 am & I took time off from work; I don't make $75/hr. at my job!

Five participants showed up; they only needed 4. I had to wait around for 45 minutes in case "they needed me" - I enjoyed the juice, water, muffins. By 10 am, I was given my $150 cash & I was free to go! I went straight to my bank & deposited my money for my upcoming WDW solo trip! So $150 for one hour of my time that day; not too bad!

I've been doing mystery shopping for over 10 years, & I'm finally getting some good paying jobs by working my way up! It's how I save up $$ for WDW!

If you live in the metro N.O. Area and have accounts with Capital One, you might be able to qualify for a one hr. one-on-one appt. to discuss the banking rewards program. The appts. are only on 10/20 & 10/21, I think. Send me a pm if you think you might qualify. The lady said they might need more applicants. I can use another $150 for my WDW trip; I'll even skip lunch that day!

In my area (Dallas) there is a company that does all sorts of focus groups, and they pay pretty good. Usually last 1-2 hours and pay anywhere from $75-150. The problem is getting qualified. I apply for every one that comes my way that I could possibly do. I've been called quite a few times. But I've actually only qualified to actually DO the study probably 2-3 times and my husband has done 2-3 also. The one here is Fieldwork Dallas. They probably have offices all over.

This would sound like something I would love to do!! Did you just get this assignment from doing your mystery shopping? If not, how did you find out about it? I would love to earn this kind of $$ for Disney!

Yeah, I'm curious too how mystery shopping works. I wouldn't mind some extra spending money :)

A little over a month ago I signed up for studies at a new research psychiatric hospital(I am the normal healthy participant)LOL. I have been in two studies so far and made $310. I am scheduled for another one on Monday. Easy money.

I wish I could find local focus groups. I need to look into mystery shopping too. All of kiddos are in school now so I feel like I should be making money somehow but love my flexible schedule.

I like doing focus groups, it's very easy money & they usually provide drinks/snacks too. And sometimes they are actually fun/interesting. I did one about "adult toys" once that ended up being a lot of fun (was all women in the group & a female interviewer so no weirdness), and paid $250. I've also done ones for a video game company, where I got paid $75 to play video games for an hour.

Sometimes it's easy to tell from the qualifying questions what you need to say in order to get in. The company I do most of my groups through usually sends out some questions by e-mail, then out of the respondants they call whomever they think will qualify & ask more specific questions. A few times I've even been "coached" on the phone as to what to say, if they're desperate to fill a group. (Not saying this is right, just saying it happens.)

LSUMom - I live in Lafayette and have been trying to find a reputable mystery shopping company. Could you PM me with information on the company you work for? Thanks ... and, GEAUX TIGERS!:cheer2:
