Early vs Late Seating

That depends on what night you are talking about. We changed clocks so many times on west coast cruse who ever new what the real time was until we got home. We never went all the way to eastern time anyway but why harass someone over something so nonimportant?????

I also can't eat late at night comfortably. So I suspect we will always have early seating no matter how often we cruise or how old our kids are. In fact, I don't think I'd book if all that was available was late seating. And I go to bed pretty early, (9:00 on a Saturday night as I type this and I'm yawning), so it isn't just getting the kids through dessert without having someone face down in the food.

Sorry. Thought it was a legitimate question.

We have done both with our children. Both have great reasons to chose. One the early you can have dinner, go to the shows and eat again! LOL Or late you do not have to rush to eat, you can go to the show and then have dinner. I honestly do not know which I like better. We chose the late seating for our next but we are without the kids on that cruise.

We prefer late seating. We have early seating on our first cruise, but I agree with OP that you have to get ready early and miss part of the late afternoon. We have had late seating on our last 3 cruises and love it. We usually get something to eat around 5PM (chicken fingers or the cheese & fruit platter) and that keeps everyone happy until dinner. Also remember early seating means a 6:45AM breakfast on the last day. We are not early risers, so that time would have been very unpleasant.

I have to ditto the early breakfast on your last day. I hated that. You can always go to Top Siders or Beach Blanket.

I too, was concerned about this. But only until AFTER I read some threads on the subject.

When we booked, I really wanted the early seating -- but it was unavailable. So, we have the late seating. Now that I have researched this, we are really happy to have the late seating.

In fact, we just returned from WDW and had many wonderful, late dinners with our two boys (7 & 4). We would get them dinner at their dinner time (between 5 & 6) either by the pool or room service and then they would come along with us for dinner (usually an 8:00 PS) and enjoy their dessert. I succombed to letting them play their game-boys at a couple of restaurants (California Grill & Jiko) but I'm over feeling bad about that. We plan to do the same thing on our upcoming cruise.

I want our boys to really enjoy the shows. From what I understand, there is food every where you turn on these cruises, so you certainly won't be at a loss for food.

Have fun!
