Our family really wanted to visit this September and take in Food & Wine, but was initially scared off by the updated opening of SWGE. Upon checking rates and availability for the first week of September, there seems to be room availability at like every resort, at every level. Am I missing something? Or are people staying away for fear of an unbearable Star Wars crowd?

Does anyone think there might be a chance of a September Passholder RO discount?, or are September discounts probably not going to happen now?

I think there will be discounts for room only. I expect them to be released around June 30. If you really wanted to visit in Setember then why not? I mean if you think HS will be packed that has little to do with Epcot and Food and Wine. I don't know what you mean by missing something. I don't think crowds will be less by any means Star Wars or no Star Wars Food and Wine is popular and crowded on the weekends, so try to visit during week days. HS is having 6am EMHs-not only does that help with the heat, but that may help with getting a glimpse at Star Wars GE.

If you want to go to WDW then just go. Plan your trip and leave wiggle room so that if it rains, parks are at capacity or you just need a break.

I personally won't ever go in July again. Heat, crowds, and did i say heat? But, September it is hot but I love the Food and Wine (we have done 3 MNSSHP and after the last one -we decided we will give that a break for a while-too crowded).

Plan your trip and have fun. You won't regret it.

I love early September but we have not decided yet if we are going to attempt it this year. SWGE is going to be insane with enormous crowds all over WDW; not what we usually like to experience for that time of year. Keep in mind that not only HS, but also MK and AK ALL have EMH every morning for quite a while after SWGE opens to help handle the crowds expected. That to me already adds some extra stress of starting the days earlier than normal. I'm not knocking September or the people going for SWGE opening....to me and for the way we like to do the parks, it's not something we would like for vacation.

We will be there the week of the 7th. Ive stopped worrying about crowds. However, it is interesting that rooms are widely available and ADR's as well. Im interested to see if they do release AP and Florida rates and , if they do, how it affects availability.

Early September is usually a low crowd period at WDW because so many schools are back in session by then. The crowds are not expected to that much larger than normal by most estimates. And that idea is supported by the fact that there is still plenty of availability at the resorts. It will probably be busy at DHS, though. :)

Hoping to see some sort of discounts for the fall. We're thinking of going early September. The issue I have is that the 60 day mark for fastpasses will be in a week. It's going to be quite a bit of planning all at once (2 Florida residents with AP's to renew and 2 from out of state joining us). Hoping the discounts (if any) don't come out after the fastpass window opens for September. It can be done of course, but we haven't decided for sure that we're even going to go to Disney without any discounts. I guess I can at least book a resort for now at rack rate and cancel if needed. If Disney doesn't need to make any discounts available, then good for them I guess!

We are looking at end of September and rooms are full. Doesn’t take long for school start up to get over with and back to Disney

There is room availability for 33 resorts at the end of September. Only value sold out is Pop, the other few are Deluxe.
