Hello! Booked a trip early September from Sunday the 6th-Wednesday the 9th. This trip will be solo, and I'm so excited, but nervous and now going over the fine details of everything. It's my third time visiting DLR, and WDW is my home so I'm quite familiar with it. I visited this time of September in 2013 and had such a blast with the low crowds, and last year came in August and experienced high crowds so I'm familiar with both sides of the spectrum. The first half of my trip will fall on Labor Day weekend. I am assuming this will be very busy due to the race as well as holiday, Monday should be busy too, but then Tuesday and Wednesday I'm guessing should be empty? Please tell me I'm right :S These days at WDW are some of our slowest. I plan on staying at probably the Hyatt Orange County Sunday night, and PPH Monday and Tuesday night. I got a great rate and I plan on using early entry for Monday Tuesday and Wednesday morning, and using points for Sunday night. Since early entry won't be used Sunday morning since I will be flying in and arriving to the parks late in the afternoon, I'm being cheap and not wanting to pay for a Disney hotel. Has anyone else done this and moved hotels? I feel like it might bite me in the butt in the end, but the rates Sunday night are extremely out of my budget :/ I figure I can go check in early before park opening and go use Early entry at DCA Monday morning, correct? And they will hold my luggage? And is it secure enough to leave my computer and such with them?
Also in my first trip to DLR I stayed at the DLH, how is the walk distance compared to PPH? On the map it looked similar but just different, hoping that is the case.
Also, is Uber being used around the DLR area? I'm very familiar using them here in Orlando and prefer them compared to a cab when needed.
I will be flying into SNA this trip-a first! What is the cheapest quickest way to get to the Hyatt/disneyland from this airport? I will be leaving on a red eye Wednesday night late out of LAX, is there usually traffic around 8-9pm heading that way?

Okay thanks and sorry for the millions of questions! I'm sure I'll be back with more regarding touring, but for now I'm more worried about logistics of getting to and from the parks! Eep!

Wednesday will be empty, but Tuesday could be a major fly out/in day for folks visiting on the labor day weekend and tuesday the cheaper flight choice. so not as empty at Wednesday.

Okay cool thanks! I think I could handle a little bit of crowds on Tuesday but after a busy holiday hoping the place will vacate completely hehehe *wishful dreaming*

well, if you like wishful dreaming, this labor day weekend could very well be light due to the fact that folks who live in states surrounding a California tend to visit the last week of August. Labor Day is on the 7th, which means a very rare seven day September arrives on the calendar, ask around, who vacations on the first week of September, sure labor day, but all those September days before labor day?

Hmmmm I like your wishful dreaming!! That would be great. Unfortunately there is some kind of rundisney race going on until Sunday which should attract a large crowd I assume? At wdw it keeps getting more and more popular so I assume the same in Cali? Who knows hmmmm

The Disney Marathon weekend is Labor Day weekend, so the 4-6 will be fairly crowded at the parks. Hopefully by the time you get there most people will be going home. Labor Day is a major holiday where people have it off so anticipate larger crowds on Monday as well.

Yes I am well prepared for that. I wish I had known this trip was possible a long time ago and I would have signed myself up for the marathon back when it was open! I'm anticipating Sunday and Monday heavy crowds, I plan on taking things slow within the parks. I'm mainly there those nights for the new night time entertainment since I remember no fireworks or parade or fantasmic during the week in September! I assume there should be atleast fireworks or something on Monday correct? And world of color should still be showing every night?

Also, have there been any other major changes in the parks since August 2014 besides the new entertainment for the 60th anniversary? I try to keep up with the blogs but sometimes life gets in the way when a DL trip isn't in the near future!

Best suggestion for Sunday since the park is open late -- book your Fantasmic dining reservation and get into the earlier show. Blue Bayou gets you a snazzy butt cushion in the middle of the River so you'll be right in front and then you can watch the fireworks from your cushy "seat". I believe it'll be about 945 by then and you can walk to the front exit of Disneyland and sit along the curb in front of the Firestation or Emporium where it starts to curve down mainstreet for a perfect view of the 11pm Paint the Night parade. And when it's done you can beat the crowd and go back to your hotel because the parade is still going down main street towards the back of the park -- and you're already done :D

Hmm I hadn't considered booking a fantasmic package. The value seemed pretty off for what it included but I'll research again and see. Being solo I never found it too hard to find a spot for fantasmic to watch, but I do usually stand off to the side with an obstructed view. Are the views good with the package/worth it?

Yes Yes Yes! They put you right in the front around the river, near the railing. If the pass tells you to get there at 830pm get in line at around 750-8 so you're right in the front of the line. I figure this much - you have to eat anyway. Might as well go all out and you can't beat blue bayou!
