Does anyone have any experience with getting seated early for an ADR at Sanaa? I wouldn't imagine it being very busy at this time. We are a party of two & trying to figure out if we would be able to show up around 2pm & get seated or make it to a 3:50 FP for Lion King in AK after a 2:15 lunch.

TIA! :)

This may sound silly, but why not just make the ADR for an earlier time if you're worried about it?

As of now, that was the only time that is available & isn't too early. The other one was 1:30 which would cut into our plans prior to lunch. I'm going to keep looking for one at 2pm but just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with showing up & getting seated early for a lunch ADR at Sanaa.

I have a ressie at Sanaa for the same time. I figure it will probably take me about an hour.

When I was there last Fall, they were being sticklers about seating exactly at the ADR time. For years, they would seat early if you showed early & if they had availability, but explained to me that they had a new WDW-wide policy to only seat at ADR time (or later). I agree with you that it should be quiet at that time and there def should be many tables open. Guessing much will depend on the seater (not check-in CMs) but the actual CM doing the seating that day. Good luck!

1) Chances are they don't have vacancies.
2) Yes, tables may be empty.
3) But, there might not be enough Servers schedule on that date.
. . . by union contract, only a certain amount of tables are scheduled per Server
. . . during the meal period, the table Assigner can only put a certain amount for tables per Server
. . . if they overload a Server, the Server can file a grievance for too much workload
. . . if they overload a Server, other Servers can file a grievance for less/reduced tip opportunity
4) IN these cases, they would not seat your early.

I would never make plans dependant on early seating. And plan that you could be seated late..Why rush a wonderful meal? Not worth it. Just be prepare to let the FP go rather than killing yourself rushing.

We've almost always been seated 1 or 2 minutes after checking in with our ADR time for lunch. The longest we've ever had to wait was maybe 5 minutes and that was for dinner.

..one other thought tables with window view here are amazing..you can request and may wait..we waited 20 min, and was worth it!!

I've arrived early for Sanaa ADR's twice, and both times I was seated within 2 minutes of arriving. The first time, I explained to them that I was a little early and asked if I would be able to be seated now or if I need to wait. The seated me immediately - at a window table! This past June we went and once again arrived about 30 minutes early (lovely Disney transportation lol!) and I just gave them my name and told them we had a reservation for 3. They didn't ask what time, we waited about 2 minutes, and were again given a window table.

Ok. Thanks everyone for the replies. :)

If I can get an ADR for 2pm between now & then that would be great. If not, it won't be the end of the world missing the FP.

Is it possible to just move the FP for lion king to a little later?

If need be, yes. We are planning our AK night that evening in hopes that ROL might be ready by then. We have two FPs after Lion King so if ROL will be happening then, we can move things around as long as we make sure we are there with decent seating somehow. We are also planning a morning at AK that week so if we miss the Lion King FP, we will still have a chance to see it then. :)
