Early Roll Call For January 29, 2005 western....Anyone Out There?

$200 Credit is per room.....having nothing to do with how much the cruise costs. You can spend it on anything you can charge to your room...tips, excursions....drinks....anything.

Then if you transfer your reservation to DU (or another TA who offers the similar deal) then you also get a "rebate" based on how much your cruise costs, per stateroom booked.

Okay, so I thought that "Pirate Night" was actually a "Costume Night." Sorry, us guys aren't up on all the small points.

So I asked my wife, "Do I have to go dressed up as a pirate, or can I go as something else." She, of course, responded, "I guess you could go as a parrot!"

Well, the challenge is out. If you see some guy walking around with colorful feathers and a beak, squawking like an idiot - you'll know it's me.

I talked to Shirley at The Perfect Gift on Tuesday she said it was in the 80's.
She would try to keep the warm weather there for us.

Steve - I will keep a look out for an un-caged bird.

njdrumrun,

DU is Dreams Unlimited Travel Inc. They sponsor this board and they are a Travel Agency. They can book the cruise for you or you can book on board and then transfer to them. When I transfered my 3 rooms to them this year the price I got onboard went down another $500. It was great! We also have $600 worth of credit waiting on the ship!

We have great weather here in DC, :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Not sure what we did to deserve this???? Not week on Thursday the weather is supposed to be 75 to 80 degrees here? Today is sunny and 55........loving life here!

We will be joining you on the Jan. 29th Magic sailing!

Our little group consists of myself (mid-40's), my Mom and my three year old niece, Hannah. My mom and I have cruised several times before, but never with a toddler. It promises to be a new experience for us!

We are flying in from Michigan late on Friday and will spend the night at the Hyatt. We have DCL transfers for the trip to the port the next morning. We will be spending one night at the Swan post-cruise to get a little Magic Kingdom time in for Hannah. We have a Cat 6 room on Deck Six with early dinner seating.

Our plans currently include the Beach Excursion at Cozumel and maybe the Conch train and/or Aquarium at Key West. Thought we might skip the excursions on Grand Cayman and just doing a little shopping.

Hannah is really excited about the trip and talks all the time about going on the "Mickey Boat." Sounds like she will have a lot of friends at the "club."

I received our cruise docs earlier this week and we are already 90 percent packed. See you all in three weeks!

welcome julylady!

from NJ. it's our first cruise. hubby, me and 6 y.o. daughter.

OK, I read the stuff about being a pirate and made the mistake of menioning it to my 5 y/old. Guess here I am going today? Yes, thats right. The costume store 40 minutes away. She wants to be a pirate. So, Mamacrush, add a little one to your group. :boat:
STILL NO DOCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!If they dont arrive ASAP, someones gonna get hurt! :charac2:

Stay healthy!! pirate:

Julylady,
Yeah!! Someone else with a mom! My mom (81 yo) is supposed to go....never know with her till the very last moment. My Father in law is coming to....we just lost my MIL a few months ago.

Will you mom hang out at the pool? We should get them together...to bad there is not a club for grandparents!

I want to go now......but I have not packed at all. Well, I did by a set of 3 goggles at Costco yesterday. If anybody is looking for a great deal on goggles or snorkle set (both adult size and children's size) Costco is the place to go.

DC is still supposed to remain warm....which is good for everybody...that means FL and below is really warm which means the ocean temps will be wonderful for all of us. DC is getting into inaugation (sp?) mode. We are now being told the subway will be shutting down and NO cars in DC that whole day. My nephew is going to one of the balls (he is a student at Georgetown) and is thrilled. I hope it stays warm through then!

Lisa

Megan has an Esmerelda costume which (luckily) will work for Pirate night, so at least I don't have to but another costume!

Welcome Judylady, we will also be staying at MCO Hyatt Friday night, DH, myself and DD 4 1/2 and she loves playing with smaller kids too! we get in about 7 pm from CA.

Still no DOCS for us either :sad2:

Lisa

Hello to all!! We are all soooo excited about our second disney cruise....DD 2 1/2 is walking around the house with her luggage stuffed with all her bathing suits. I am just as excited. We will be flying in from NY on Friday and staying at the Hyatt. CAnt wait to be sitting next to the Micky pool in the hot sun but no Konk Koolers for me...we are expecting in August. Hope to meet you all soon.

Norma

Oh my!!!!!!! I havent done a thing yet....no docs....no packing!! I guess I better get with it huh?

Are we all going to meet one day on the ship??? Would be nice to see who we all have been chatting with.

My TA who is in Florida said she called Disney and they said we would get our docs 14 days before the cruise......HMPGH :smooth:

On Pirate night, I heard some people still wear there tropical attire but if we dont want to wear pirate or tropical....it is ok right? Then it would be just regular dining room clothes!

I am traveling with my ds17 and his 17 year old gf. Anyone with older children? My mom asked me why I go Disney if I am a 38 year old single parent....why not Carnival or Royal Caribbean....but I think you all know the answer to that one. :flower:

Well....time is quickly coming and I am unprepared....off to Walmart with my list of things to bring!!!

Bye for now :) Tracy

P.S. Dont laugh me off the board but what the heck is a "Konk Kooler"??? Is it a wine cooler???

Hi Disneylover5 (Lisa)!
My Mom has been on six cruises (3 DCL). She likes to sit by the pool for short stretches. We are both early risers so one of our favorite activities is the hot tub watching the sun rise. I, myself, can sit at the pool the entire day if its nice and warm!

Mommy2mrb (Lisa)!
I hope we run into you at the Hyatt. Hannah loves new friends and can talk your ear off. She got a Cinderella dress for Christmas (including the "glass" slippers) and loves trying it on and dancing around the house. I have a feeling she will want to wear it to dinner every night including Pirate night!

We made our own reservations at the Hyatt using a senior discount code. We also booked DLC transfers through DU Travel. Do we let the hotel know when we check in that we are boarding the bus the next morning? Anyone have any experience with transfers after booking their own room rather than part of a package?

It's curious that some of us have had our documents for a week while others are still waiting. Any ideas why?

How are all of you getting to and from MCO and port. We were originally going to do the rental car thing, but are considering Happy Limo now, at least for the return trip from port to MCO. We have a 11:45am flight and think this will be the quickest way. Last year we rented from Budget for both ways and it worked great, but we had a 6:50pm return flight. I know we waited for about 30 minutes for a shuttle to budget even for just one. Just wondering what you others are doing. Craig :moped: :moped:
