Has anyone been to the world during early pregnancy? I will be 12/13 weeks on our upcoming trip & wonder what people did/did not do in terms of attractions etc. Did everyone just play it safe & "smell the roses", or were any of you confidently able to do some of the "banned" rides e.g. kilimanjaro safari?

TIA

Ive been twice at around 20 weeks, and fortunately, as we are fairly regular visitors, I felt I knew what was safe for me and what wasnt.

I did do Kilimanjaro Safaris, Kali River Rapids and a few others that Disney dont recommend for pregnant women. Obviously, I kept away from the "Mountains" and anything with a big drop like TOT or high G forces like R&RC.

I think its all down to personal choice. Get a partner or friend to ride something first that you arent sure about. I think Disney are quite over cautious with some of the ride restrictions, but they do have your best interests at heart. As you are in a fairly early stage of pregnancy (and the most vulnerable trimester) then I wouldnt go "mad". There are lots and lots of attractions that you can do safely, and you wont feel you are missing out on much thats for sure.

Good luck with your pregnancy.

Congratulations!

I went to Disneyland at 7 weeks pregnant and then to Disney World at about 13 weeks. At DL I rode everything, including the mountains and Indy. At WDW I cut back. No mountains, no test track, no Tower of Terror, no R&RRC. Like Allie, I rode the Kilimanjaro Safaris and Kali River Rapids.

We only found out my DW was pregnant 1 week into our trip in 2000, this was after she had gone on the likes of RRC,Kilimanjaro Safaris and various other rides which it advises pregnant women not to ride and she had no complications, however she did ease off on what she went on after we found out but there are still so many other rides you can do.

Thanks everyone! Although I'm thrilled I was a bit disappointed as this will be the first trip DD can ride the likes of splash, TOT, dinosaur etc. & I can't!!! Looks like test track will be a no go too which DD has already ridden twice & I have yet to experience! Based on previous experience & what I've read here, I'll go on Kilimanjaro safari & kali river rapids - and take photos for everything else! I will endeavour towrite a report on my return which may at least assist anyone else in the future!

Congratulations.
I was wondering about this kind of thing, I guess you have just got to gauge what you think yourself.
