weather.. crowds.. value vs. regular season..

when would be better to go, late or early Oct??

Personally I would go early October because it seems park hours get shorter as you get later into the month. Also this year they are closing down BB for refurb. October 23rd. We went beginning of October a few years back and weather was great - 80's and sunny. Are returning 3-13th this October as well. So with these dates we are actually straddling both seasons and got the free dining. It seems like during this time of year Disney has had some sort of promotion to encourage people to go. Whatever you decide I'm sure you'll have a blast. Also crowds were minimal - we waited for 4 rides - and these were because of mechanical problems or the ride was new so many wanted to try them out. Everything else we walked right onto including RnR and ToT and many we walked off of and right back on.

I hope this doesn't sound stupid but what's BB?

Blizzard Beach...It didn't sound stupid. I usually sit here repeating the initials until I go "OH! Thats..." so been there, done that before.

Boy this is going to sound even more stupid. Are we talking about Disneyland or disney world? Because I was wondering about disneyland california. I feel so stupid. Because we are planning to go to disneyland in october but can't decide when and I was hoping you guys could let me know when would be best (For crowds, and rides) I'm sorry.

No big deal but you found yourself in Disneyworld country. Never been out that way but good luck to you!!! :cool1:

If you're talking about early or late October this year, I'd say early October, if you can check in by (or before) October 4: for free dining! Ditto if you want to take advantage of cheaper onsite hotel rates (eg if you have an AP, or aren't using the dining plan for some other reason.). I'm sure there's a thread (or ten!) at the codes and rates board about the free dining promotion.

HTH!

Having been both times of the year recently, I wouldn't say that there was a huge difference. I couple of things to keep in mind....stay clear (if you can) of Columbus Day weekened both before and after- they are usually VERY busy. Also there is something magical about being at Disney the closer you get to Halloween and especially if you are planning on doing MNSSHP! If you every have the opportunity go there ON Halloween night...it was so, so fun. I do think that we had better weather days for like swimming in the earlier part of the month- but all in all I love October and love Disney in the FALL!
Good luck and have a magical trip!
