Hi! I've been reading lots of posts about Early Morning Magic at MK as we're planning our trip, and DH and I both thought it would be an awesome splurge. I just looked today and realized that dates for our trip are available...BUT...it looks like they are only doing it once a week. If we were to do it, it would be our first MK day. Which is my daughter's (7) first MK day EVER. So now I'm torn...do we skip it and let her first ever day at MK be a "regular" day - welcome show, walking down Main Street, etc - or do we splurge and have her first few hours at MK be spectacular? I'm also a little worried that if her first experience is EMM the rest of the trip might be a bit of a letdown! Curious what you all think...THANKS!

I would do EMM. It's all special. She will get the full experience next time. This way you can do those rides all you want, then take in the rest of the park at a slower pace.

I would do EMM but that is because I think being in the park when its almost empty is way more special than just showing up at RD.

I would do EMM for the same reasons that everyone else has posted.

We did it on our first MK day. It was awesome. Kids loved the breakfast overlooking its a small world. Riding over and over with no wait was really fun, and we ticked off two of the long wait rides that we didn't need to fit in later.

I think you're getting a consensus...

It's a DIS miracle! LOL!

I disagree!
The welcome show sets the bar for our trip. Gives me chills every time to hear "the most magical place on earth is here". We have magical days whenever we go, always ride PP and 7dmt at least twice each anyway and see no need to spend more than a days park cost on a few hrs extra though.

I don't think seeing the welcome show is worth shuffling down Main Street in a crowd. Think of it from a kid's perspective. Their castle view is blocked by a bunch of adult behinds.

Criticisms of EMM usually leave out the value of the park being nearly empty. You don't get to ride things a "couple of times", you get unlimited access to rides that are notorious for having long lines later in the day.

There is also the value of breakfast included with EMM. I look at EMM as comparable to paying for a character breakfast. You are getting a full buffet breakfast plus an exclusive experience. And we all know how expensive food is at Disney.

Some folks only value things that are directly tangible. But if you think about it, your time and experiences have value too.

All booked. :) Thanks for your help - I feel better about "missing out" on the regular first day experience. I'm THRILLED to be doing it - we've never been on Mine Train - the thought of getting to ride it a few times is pretty awesome!
