Early Morning Magic Itinerary?

I will be traveling solo in September and have just booked Early Morning Magic. When I first read about this I thought it was absolutely ridiculous but then I began reading reviews. My plan right now would be to ride 7DMT, Peter Pan and Pooh a few times each and once the crowds begin to enter around 8:45(ish) get in a few rides on Haunted Mansion and maybe a trip through Small World.

Planning on heading to Pinocchio's Village Haus around 9:30 and making the most out of the AYCE breakfast. That would see me through until an early dinner. Sooo, if I figure on a $10 breakfast and a $15 lunch the extra hour would actually cost $45 which doesn't seem quite so bad. I would be able to get in many of my favorites with minimal waits and save my FPs for later in the day.

The worst thing for me as a solo is waiting in lines alone. I'm not one to strike up conversations with strangers and for me the whole process is a lovely combo of boring and awkward. I've paid the ridiculous prices for PPO breakfasts at Be Our Guest since it began mainly to avoid the 7DMT queues and, to be honest, this seems like a better fit for me.

Has anyone done this? How did you use your time? Did you feel like it was worth it?

Thanks!

Yes, I have read the article-Josh is on my Facebook feed. I was just wondering how many and which rides people have been able to do between park open and around 9:30 AM.

Also, was breakfast still on in full then or were they trying to close up?

Thanks!

I wrote a review on our time. I was able to ride 7DMT 8x, Pooh 2x and Peter Pan 2x before 8:30 and by then we couldn't ride any more without some nourishment so we ended up using the rest of the early morning enjoying breakfast. Then at 9 we headed back out and rode a ton more during that early 1-1.5 hours where there are minimal waits for nearly everything. It was fantastic! You may find yourself ready for an earlier breakfast - I couldn't stomach another pass on 7DMT haha!

I have not done this yet, but the reviews have all been great! I did book the Early Morning Magic for just myself on Sept 6th, since no one else in my family wants to do it. I am going to wake up early, head over to MK and get as many rides in on the 3 that are open, have breakfast and enjoy a few more things at MK for a little before heading back to my resort. I like going off on my own, so I am also doing the MNSSHP solo during my trip too!

DH would need food but I should be okay. Up at 5:00 today and just sitting down for breakfast now. I'll have a quick bite at the condo and have a very (very!) early brunch at Pinocchio's.

I also plan on spending some time taking pictures. I don't expect the park to be empty but should be able to get in some decent shots.

I will be solo too! DH is not a ride guy so I don't get the chance to do rerides when he's along-I'm excited!

So.....if you were to ride non-EMM rides from 8:45 to 9:30, which would you pick? Frontierland would normally be my first choice but that 's a bit far. Space has been on the no-fly list since the time my thighs cramped up and it took TWO cast members to haul me out of the car. I also don't do character meets so no need for Anna and Elsa (Josh@easywdw's choice). For the record I'm a pretty quick walker and know my way around the MK well.

It's really liberating to be in the park early for Early Morning Magic with the ability to walk on the open Fantasyland rides as many times as you desire. My group had 7 people in it, from age 22 months to 60 years old and everyone had a blast. At the mine train ride you are asked which car you would like to ride in and a few times we were the only people on the train. You do have to exit the train car when the ride is over, but you just turn to the left and get in line for the next car. Never waited more than 2 minutes for that next train car to appear.
The baby and less adventurous re-rode Peter Pan without exiting 5 times, Winnie the Pooh rerides (stayed on) ranged from 2x for me and about 6x for the baby and others.

I'm somewhat embarrassed to say we ate twice. Around 8:30 we popped in to Pinnochio Haus for a rest stop of juices, fruit, yogurt and yes, a chocolate crossiant. Then hurried off ran off to ride more rides and pictures, such great MK pictures of everyone in a near empty park. Around 9:40 we returned to Pinnochio's for the real breakfast feast. We ate so much breakfasts that we totally skipped lunch that day. We were able to then walk right on to Haunted Mansion, over to Splash as a walk on and BTMR with a very short wait.

Best Disney morning ever! Got tons of rides done without the pressure and madness of crowds at rope drop.

Thanks for the report-grabbing a pastry and drink early sounds great! Was the selection fresh on your second go?

Yes, very fresh. They were putting out fresh scrambled eggs, vegetable frittata and sausages at 9:55. We were joking with the CMs about it being over at 10 and they said they had plenty more food. The CMs insisted that we take away bottles of juices and water with us when we left the restaurant. The stroller and backpacks were loaded down with bottles drinks from the event.

I would probably head to Liberty Square for HM, then Frontierland for Splash Mt (Big Thunder will be closed), after Splash I might head to Adventureland and then make my way out of the park. I usually love Tomorrowland early right when the park opens, since it is not crowded at all - Space Mt is a favorite of mine and the Peoplemover and CoP are favorites also.

Better and better!

I want to make it back to Pinocchio's by 9:30-9:40 to take advantage of the buffet. My plan is to let that hold me until dinner although a Mivkey bar may be needed :) It's my only night for Wishes due to MNSSHP so I'll be there all day. I'll probably head to a resort for an early CS or lounge dinner and bit of a break.

Think I'm going to stick with Haunted Mansion, IASW and, if time allows, Under the Sea or Dumbo. I'm afraid to venture too far afield!

We have EMM planned for 6/28. Can anyone confirm that rides other than the 3 EMM ones open up at 8:45?? I thought they would stay closed until exactly 9:00. I am thinking of Dumbo, Tea Cups, Small World and the like. Any experience with this? Thanks

I think that the rides are up and running a few minutes before rope drop. Mine Train definitely was in the pre EMM days. I'm also pretty sure that rope drop is only five minutes or so before official opening so it's not a long time. My plan is to hit nearby second tier type rides while everyone is rushing to the headliners in that 9:9:30 time frame. I'll get FPs for Splash and the others, just gotta figure out which.

I'm planning to do this on Sept. 18 by myself as well! My family will still be sleeping so I am going to grab some coffee and a muffin in the club lounge and head over alone. Planning to ride everything I can until around 8:45 too and then grab breakfast and hop in some lines for other rides before heading back to the hotel to meet up with my family.

9-10a is still your best window of time before crowds grow, and depending on how far you are moving between lands will determine how many rides/attractions within that hour, if in same area perhaps 3-4. All driven by crowds as we found on 8+ days, between 9-10a with regular opening, crowds really build fast in that first hour including those already using FPs. And our FP in mornings/mid day we not simply walk on, but often 10-15 minutes to loading. That first hour will go faster than many think especially if higher crowds or walking involved.
