We have an 8:20 reservation for Crystal Palace and were planning on being in the park before the rope drop. However, it is an early magic hour day. Will we be able to get in the park before everyone else? How early will they let us in? Thanks!

I would change that ressie...

If you are planning on being up that early then I certainly wouldn't waste AM EMH in a restaurant. What I would recommend is to get either the latest breakfast or earliest lunch ressie. Then you can tour the park, you will get so much done, and by the time your ADR comes up, you will be so ready for a meal.

We did this. It was an 11:20 AM ressie for lunch. Very good. Get over to the podium early because there can be quite a line just to check in.

If you keep the ressie, you should be able to get into the park before everyone else. At AK, they had a special turnstyle that was designated for the character meal ADRs. They will verify that you are on the list and then admit you to the park. You might want to get there extra early in order to get some pictures without people (if that's your goal) because sometimes at MK they let people into the park and up to the castle area where there are ropes hanging there for what is open.

agree...change the reservation to a different day, or for the latest breakfast, and use the EMH time for rides. If it's early EMH, the park will open to Disney hotel guests at 8:00. You will not get into the park ahead of anyone with an 8:20 on EMH day...because 8:00 is about when they'd let you in for your reservation. So you & several thousand Disney EMH hotel guests will be walking into the park together at 8:00. You'll be going to eat, and they'll all be going to ride the rides. By the time you get done eating, they'll be letting in all the regular guests at 9:00...and you'll find long lines everywhere you go.

The magic hour is the first hour the park is open...which on EMH day is the hour before regular opening time.
