Hope this isn't a dumb question...

We will be stay at WDW next week. Our first day in the parks will be the day we check into ASM. We're actually arriving in Orlando the night before, so we hope to get to the parks for opening.

My question is, what is the process of getting our tickets and checking in? Right now we just have our voucher package that came in the mail (We are doing MYW). It came with vouchers, luggage tags, etc.

Am I correct in thinking we can that pre-check in, leaving our bags at the hotel, get our tickets and then go to the parks and return to get our room in the afternoon?

Can anyone tell me how this works? Thanks!

Yes thats correct.
You can go to guest services, check your luggage, get your park passes, etc.. and then head to the park. They will tell you which room you will be in and tell you to call later in the day (if before 4:00) to see if your room is ready.
Then if I remember correctly, you go back and just go to your room. I think they give you your room key when you first check in. Your luggage should already be in your room.

Just back from CSR. We are Florida AP so we just took a quick overnight
trip. Got to the resort at 7:30 a.m. got a free waterfront upgrade and checked into our room. We have never had a problem getting a room as early as 7:30 or 8:00 a.m. at any resort we have stayed in.

Hello and Welcome!!!
As the other posters have stated, you can check in to your Disney resort early in the morning. They will likely not have a room available (but sometimes they do) but they will check you in. You will recieve all your paperwork and room keys and park tickets. The hotel will hold your luggage for you and you can go to a theme park.
Just reverse this on check-out day. If you have a later flight you can check your luggage and go to a theme park until it's time to head to the airport.
Just want to mention that you are considered a Disney guest until midnight of your last day. So if you have park tickets left enjoy your last day and do everything and anything you want.

We have done this several times and think it is awesome Disney will do this. I've been to other vacation destinations where you are simply on your own until your room is ready - way to go Disney!

Last fall, we got into our AKL room before 10 a.m. During our May trip, we waited until 4:30 p.m.!
