I will be visiting relatives in Tampa for a long weekend coming up soon. They will pick me up at the airport but I need to depart for my flight home at 4 am so I want to provide my own transportation back to the airport - what's the best scenario here? It's just me, a middle aged female, traveling alone. Uber? It's the cheapest at about $25. But how hard will it be to call an uber at 4 am? How about the safety factor?

I can rent a car the day before and return it to the airport for $32. It's about a 20 mile drive so I'm guessing I can get away without gassing up the car.

Finally airport shuttle - $42 and I don't have to drive though I don't mind driving. What would you pick?

I personally would strongly consider leaving the evening before and staying at the MCO Hyatt Regency.

But if that's not an option...

I would do that.

And if by chance they wanted to charge for a bit of gas it would be a gallon. A gallon at the high airport prices isn't too horrid.

I'm flying out of the Tampa airport so no need to stay the night in a hotel beforehand and in reality all it would save me would be the 20 min drive to the airport anyways. Short weekend visit so not worth it but thanks!

Make an advance reservation for an Uber, a couple of days before your return flight.
