Staying in the parks , discontinued true or false

on wdwig.com said they were discontinued in Oct. 2001 we went on DCL last year 2002 and were at WDW in july 2001

will be there this Aug. are they still on or gone ??

thanks cmatt

If you're staying on Disney property, you can take advantage of early entry. It was discontinued for a while and was replaced with a Character Caravan. I think enough people complained and they changed it back. :D

We have went almost every year since 1997 the 25 th anniversary

unless we took a DCL cruise in 2000 and ind 2002

we love the early park entrys are you sure they are doing them ?

Can annual passholder's get early entry. I live 15 minutes from WDW and don't really need to stay at a resort?

No, it is for onsite guests only.

On October 1, 2002, WDW began a new program for Disney Resort Guests (including guests of the Swan/Dolphin and the Hilton at Lake Buena Vista) called the "Extra Magic Hour". Similar in nature to the very popular Surprise Morning Program (that ended abruptly last fall), a different theme park will open one hour early each day.

They check for room keys.

Just got back and they do have the extra magic hour. Sunday and Thursday are MK, Monday and Friday are AK, Tuesday and Saturday are MGM and Epcot on Wed. Make sure you bring your room ID and tickets to get in and get there right at eight in the a.m.

Someone mentioned be there at 8:00. Does that mean you go through the ticket gates at 8:00 or can you be on Main Street waiting for the rope drop at 8:00?

It differs from park to park. In MK, you are let in the gate at 8 am, same as Epcot and Animal Kingdom. At MGM, they let you in the gate about 5-10 minutes prior, and you can wait at the rope at the corner of Hollywood and Sunset Blvd.

Have a great time!
