early entry?

I understand that only guests of either of the 3 DL hotels are eligible for EE to DL and DCA...correct? If so, do I have to buy my tickets AT the hotel/desk, or can I just be a hotel guest? (I will be exchanging my WDW tickets directly at Guest Relations for the DL tickets.) How do they know if I'm a DL Resort guest to allow me EE?

Thanks!

If that's correct, that's changed since January ;)

Early entry comes with certain park passes. Some of the 3-day park passes have one early entry allowed (I think all 3-day passes purchased either through the Walt Disney Travel Company, or from a Disney good Neighbor hotel), and all (as far as I know) 5-day passes have up to 5 early entry uses. And it's very well worth the time to do EE here :D

I think what may be confusing you is that guests at the Grand Californian ONLY have been able to get in for early entry at DCA. It is not a published practice, but it seems that it has been routinely done. Early entry at Disneyland (every day except Wednesdays and Sundays) is offered to all Disney resort guests, offsite guests with the Vacation Magic package, and with certain types of passes (as Rajah mentioned). Hope that helps! :)
