I'm trying to understand Early Entry at Universal, as this will be the first time we be staying on property:
1. Is it an automatic perk of staying onsite to be able to get into IOA before posted open time? Or only on certain days?
2.Is there a separate entrance for resort guests to use?
3.Do they sometimes open the park to the public early, also?
4.The Universal site says,'early admission to Harry Potter's Wizarding world'.
Does that mean only that area is open?
5.Is it always 1 hour earlier than the regular opening time of 9am (the days I will be ther), or does it vary?

1. Early entry is a perk for onsite guests and it's good every day of the year.

2. Kinda...there are different gates open but not a completely separate entrance. Just follow the signs.

3. Yes...sometimes the park will open a little early for the general public but that's usually only if there is a large crowd outside waiting to enter. There is no way to know when this will happen.

4. Yes...only WWoHP will be open during that hour.

5. One hour before park opening...so usually 7-8AM depending on the park hours.

So, if it's only Harry Potter world that is open early (which is in Islands of Adventure), then IOA is the only park that offers early entry? Not Universal Studios?

Thank you for your prompt response, and for helping me to understand!

During the summer the Studios also had early entry( that ended Sept 2nd)..However once the Harry Potter expansion opens next summer, I would expect the Studios will also have early entry

Have your resort keycards and admission out for everyone in your party. It'll make the Team Members happy (not to mention the people behind you!).

Walking through the Suess and Lost Continent areas when nothing is open is great for taking pictures, by the way... (and that's the way you'll go...they don't let you go around the other way)
