we're heading to DL in early october...and i'd like to make use of my early entry day. if i understand correctly, the entire park is not open, but only fantasyland. so i was wondering (and i'm sorry if this is a silly question)...do you think it would be a good idea to go and stand in line for Finding Nemo at around 7:45am? will i find a bunch of other early entry folks waiting in line, too? i figured i'd do as many rides as i could with my family in fantasyland then head over to finding nemo 15 minutes before the park opens to everyone. thoughts?

I think your second idea was a better idea..
7:45 a.m waiting in line for Finding Nemo is a little bit too early.

When my family and I went back in January, we went to Finding Nemo right away when the park opened and we only waited for 30 minutes.. it seemed like only 15 minutes though because the line moves

I believe Finding Nemo is running durring the early entry hour.

Would Nemo be better to go on during a parade or fireworks?

What else is open for MM? I have teens so the little rides are not a priority for us.

Going on Finding Nemo during parades or fireworks would be good but it still might be a lil packed, so look out for that.

All of Fantasyland is open for MM.. not sure if your teens would like it but I'm 20 and I sure love most of the rides in Fantasyland ! :)

You might want to read DLR29's "Magic Morning Superthread" which talks about strategies for your MMs. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1675403&page=5 This takes you to page 5, which has some posts at the bottom and on page 6 about Nemo specifically.

Nemo is open for MM. (Space Mt. and Buzz are, usually, too.) It's still very popular, and many, if not most, of the people in line for MM are stampeding directly for Nemo (thus the expression, "the Nemo stampede").

When we did it in March, we got to security at 6:10 a.m. for a 7 a.m. MM. We were third in line. When security opened at 6:30, we hurried to the turnstiles and were first in line at our turnstile. They opened the turnstiles at 6:50 a.m. (by which time the lines were back farther than the middle of the Esplanade), and everybody went up to the top of Main street for rope drop. Rope drop was promptly at 7 a.m. People RAN (despite CMs calling out, "please don't run!") directly to Nemo. We made it on the first sub. It was INSANE. Too much fuss for what is essentially a cute ride. I would not waste an MM on it again.

Now, this was during spring break, and there were record crowds. It will likely be not so busy when you go.

There has been some speculation that the initial crowds may actually die down just before the end of MM. Hydroguy was trying to get some feedback from recent riders, as to whether it's a good strategy to get in line for Nemo at, say, 7:50 a.m. on a 7 a.m. MM., just before the regular crowds hit. I haven't heard any consensus on that, yet. If that is true, we're talking a 45 minute wait instead of an hour or 75 minute wait if you get in line at say, 7:15.

Some people say that if you can stay late, the best time to ride is just before the park closes-- because if you are in line 5 minutes before closing, you will be able to get on the ride; they'll keep it open until everybody in line has gotten on. So that's another strategy.

By October, maybe the fuss will have died down some anyway, and the wait won't be as terrible as it's been since it opened last summer.

Anyway, long story short, I wouldn't use my MM on Nemo. You can do all the rest of the rides during MM, including Space and Buzz, if you skip the subs.

Hope that helps! As always, read Hydroguy's sticky thread for the best info!

thanks for the link, avalon451! the thread was very useful! now i'm rethinking my nemo plan for my one MM day....hmmmm...

I'd say do Nemo on a non-MM day. That's what we did in June. Lined up early at the gates, and rushed over to Nemo. Which is virtually the same thing we did on a MM day the year before.

We never saw the line small, not during parades and not at night. We were pretty bummed by it. But I think the crowds have been less lately, so that might make the difference. It was pretty busy the first week of June.

If Space Mountian and Buzz are open for MM then my boys will be happy. We all love Buzz. Last time we went on it again and again in the morning. :)
I like the little FL rides too, but not a priority for us.

We used a MM for Nemo last year but avalon451 is right....the mad rush is INSANE! We have 3 kids and just about got run over at the rope drop.

If you only have one MM I would do the FL rides (lots of tips here) and Buzz the first hour.

Have fun!
