Deb Willis is reporting that starting Oct, 1. A new form of EE will be back, replacing the Character Caravan.

It's called Magical Hour ( or something like that). One park each day will open one hour earlier than posted for resort guests. Here's the schedule:

MK - Sunday and Thursday
MGM - Tuesday and Saturday
AK - Monday and Friday
Epcot - Wednesday

This begins October 1.

Yes!!!

That is great, we will be there from the 27 of Sept. through Oct. 6. I will let everyone know how close it is to EE.

Now I really can't wait, in my mind I'm already there.

Finally !!!!, they caved in to our demands, OR they felt the 'flow' of guest traffic to the off site hotels and resorts (as there was no longer a benefit to stay on Disney property).

I'm glad as we will be there over Thanksgiving !!! YES !

How early was te old early entry? It was two hours, wasn't it?

Now, let's start working on getting late exit back !!!

Calling and E-mailing must work......great job guys.....they listened. YES - we are happy!!!!

This amkes me so happy. I thought for a long time about whether to stay on site on not for my next visit-due to the lack of EE. THis makes my day.

If EE makes some people happy,I am glad it is back for them. However it does not matter to me and I will not care if it leaves again. Morning time is very relaxing for us and we do not rush to the parks. Glad that buisness is improving because I think that had more of an effect than public outcry.

I wouldn't get too excited. They haven't said what it will include....

This may be a character meet and greet on Main Street (or the front of whatever park) with no attractions open.

It may be like the old EE with some attractions open.

My guess is that the email and letters just let Disney know the rationale. The reason EE is back is to fill the hotels. With no perks left for onsite guests other than the "Disney Magic" I think hotel occupancy was dropping much faster than park attendance.

I've contended for a long time that even if you don't go to the EE parks, everyone benefits from EE because (1) anytime park hours are longer crowds will be more spread out, and (2) even if you counterprogram by going at the regular opening time to one of the other parks, you are benefitting by having the early crowd diverted to the EE park.

Well said Dancing Bear...

The two hours were definitely a plus for early risers like us. I'm not sure about just one, but anything is a plus.

Well, I too, would much rather stay later in the evening, but at least they're listening to us, their customers, their clients, their guests....

:D

Yippee! This news makes my day!

Even if it is something different -- a character meet and greet, etc. -- it'll still be a way for resort guests to get into the parks earlier, which makes the day nicer.

My memory of EE was that it was usually around an 1 1/2 hours earlier or 7:30 for a scheduled 9:00 o'clock opening.

We are staying off-site in early December and would not change our plans unless the attractions in a particular area ie., Fantasyland in MK are part of the deal.

The logic behind EE being a bonus to all guests is very valid. Anything that spreads out the crowds a little more helps out.

I would not even begin to guess as to why Disney is doing this. I would like to think that it had something to do with folks letting their voices be heard and their dollars walking to some of the excellent off-property resorts. We are DVC members but we stayed at VV last January for 10 nights and used our points at HH and VB. The old EE was a godsend to our family's 2 and 5 year old in the MK.
