Early Entry at AK

I just received word that on June 1st the opening for AK has been moved up from 9:00 AM to 8:00 which means EMH starts at 7:00. Has anyone experienced early entry at 7:00 before?

Some guests will arrive before 6AM on those days and await the earlier opening time
(which may not be too much before 7AM.)

FoP will be the main focus.

(So, basically, everything will move an hour earlier.)

There will be somewhat fewer guests in the FoP line than happens when the park opens at "normal" times

It opened at 8 am this past Tuesday. By 8:15 we entered FoP and by 8:20 were being scanned for our matchup to a banshee. By 8:50 we were on Navi River ride.

We have AP and arrived at 7:30. Went thru entrance at 8. No EMH, we were guided straight towards FoP. You were not permitted anywhere else.

Yes. If you want to do FoP get there at 6.

For everything else you're fine getting there later.

Thanks. I gotta think that fewer guests will be wiling to get up that early. We've had great success with EMH at 8:00 so 7:00 should be even better.

To some extent, yes.
But, I have to say that with FoP, "conventional wisdom" doesn't seem to apply.
I've never seen crowds gather so early at WDW because of a single attraction.

I can only imagine what Star Wars Land will bring at DHS.

This doesn't make sense. If the park opening was 8:00 and it wasn't an EMH, then the WHOLE park is open at 8:00 and you can go anywhere you want. Are you sure park opening was 8:00 and not 9:00?

It looks like the park opened at 9:00, so that is why you were only allowed to go to Pandora. That's pretty much standard operating procedure for AK since Pandora came online.

When you got to N'avi at 8:50am after FOP, what was the wait like?

I'm a bit confused. Is AK opening up at 8 even when the listed opening time is 9? We will be there this Sunday and were planning to arrive at 8:15 for a 9 am opening. Should we get there by 7:15? Sorry for my confusion and thanks for any help. We do have a fastpass for FOP but my sone would love to ride twice in 1 day.

If you want to ride twice and park opening is 9, you need to be there between 745-8 because they will start letting people in to Pandora between 830-845. That has become the process as of late and if the line builds very fast and youll find yourself in a 60-120 minute line. We went in March to do some other things but just walked to Pandora to see what the wait was for FoP on a NON EMH day for regular rope drop. The park opening time was listed as 9, but, by 9, the line to FoP was already backed up to FOTLK and already sitting at over an hour. We have made it a point to take advantage of EMH mornings at AK to do FoP and the earlier the EMH the better it is.

1. No. (Of course that depends on the accuracy of where you are checking the times.)
BUT... They HAVE been allowing guests to enter and walk to the Avatar area well before the posted opening time.
2. If your intent is to ride FoP "at" Rope Drop" you will be "behind" thousands of other guests who have arrived well before 8:15am.
