My friend and I will be going to Disney 12/7 - 12/14. My family and I have always stayed at an on-site hotel for FOTL access; really spoils you.
But, since I am staying DVC and would lose "banked" points, it is not an option for me this time.
I thought we would go 12/9 - buying the 1 day 2-park Express Pass, if necessary. I love all thrill rides and definitely want to see WWHP and ride the FJ. While it has been several years since I have been to Universal, I am a relatively seasoned visitor, but this Harry Potter thing has me all confused, something I don't like to be.
Would you still consider 12/9 [a Thursday] a slow time of the year? Do you think it will be necessary for us to buy the Express Pass? I did visit Universal in December of 2004 and it seemed pretty slow, but I had FOTL at that time.
Thanks everyone!
Edit: One more question: I want to be there about 30 minutes before the 9:00 a.m. opening. Should we take I-4 or go the "side" streets?
