Ds - Matthew 7 ý loves rides and trains and cars, slightly nervous about unknown things
Dd - Alexa almost 5, Disney nut just like mom, hates dark and loud things
To be joined later by my dad and stepmom, who travel to Disney every few years, but do nothing LOL.
Day 8 - December 7th
Today the kids slept in until almost 8:30. This is amazing for my kids, and they picked a good day for it, since we are doing MVMCP tonight. We thought we'd call and see if dad wanted to go to MGM for a few hours this afternoon, since it was our last day to see them. They said they didn't waste a day of their hopper for a couple of hours. I had told them they day before, they should go to Epcot while we got the MVMCP, so they could watch
Illuminations, because it's so wonderful. When they said no to MGM I said "so you aren't going to go to Epcot tonight then?", and they said they had thought they'd just park at our hotel and watch for free. I told them you can't see it from outside, so they said they'd skip it then. Drives me nuts, they go to Disney fairly often, yet they don't do anything. They have no information about anything new or different and they don't see any of the
nighttime shows or anything. Oh well, their loss. They said they wanted to go to a mall and maybe see a movie, so we said maybe we can meet later this afternoon. We decided we would just go to now instead of waiting till later. We were dying to ride RnR again. We took the boat over and headed straight for fastpasses. After we got them, dd and I traded some pins and looked at some stores, while ds and dh went to do the backlot tour again. Ds
loved it and begged to see it again. On the way there, ds wanted to do Star Tours again, so they saw a 10 minute wait and decided to go. Turns out the sign was wrong, they walked right on, again. After that they walked onto their backlot tour, then we met to do RnR. Dh went first with his fastpass, while I waited with the kids. This is a great place to just sit around and wait, because they play such good music outside. Then it was my turn. I
got to ride with a mom and 4 kids, first time riders. They were fun, I warned them to put their head all the way back before we took off. Again, I must say, I really LOVE this ride, and I can't wait to go back and ride again. Now it was time for lunch. We picked up a baked potato along the way for dd, then headed for Pizza Planet. This place is so cute, and the pizza was really good too. After lunch we slowly strolled out the gates and back to
the boats. I called dad when we got back, and they were at a mall, and said they'd come over about 3:30. We got our suits on and hit Stormalong bay for the first time! The weather on this trip, except Sunday, has been so nice. Ds is not big on swimming much, but he loved the sand. He played with a bunch of kids and buckets and shovels the whole time. Alexa loved to swim around, and pretty much covered the whole pool with Daddy. She really liked
the little water slide. I had left a note for my parents but they weren't here yet, so I went back to the room to make sure the note was still there. It was. On my way back to the pool, I finally met the famous Art the Doorman. After a brief chat, I saw he was wearing a Flik and Atta pin. They are two of my daughters favorites and I had not seen any Bugs Life pins anywhere before. He was not going to be there when we came back from the pool
though, so he took off the pin and put it in his pocket so she could trade for it tomorrow. That was so nice of him. They finally found us around 4:15, see I told you, always late LOL. My stepmom asked if I was able to find out about the robes in the room. After several phone calls, I was finally connected to Ben the Concierge, who told me they could be purchased for $90. Stepmom was intent on buying it for me, so we went up to see Ben (had to
get clearance from the front desk and a special key), and they paid for the robe. When we got back to the room a brand new robe was waiting for me! It was totally silly, but they insisted on buying it for me, what would I say, no??? I do love the robe though, it's so thick and plush with the YC and BC logo's embroidered in gold. They said they had loved Beaches and Cream so much they were going to eat there again tonight. I said we thought we'd
eat with them, since they were leaving in the morning. Another great dinner, another great waitress. On our way back to the room to get ready for MVMCP, I got the thrill of the trip for me, Mary Poppins was in our lobby! Now I turned into a big 4 year old! Mary Poppins has always been one of my all time favorite movies and to see her in our lobby was so cool. We talked to her for a minute, but we didn't have the camera or autograph books. She
said she'd be there until 7, so we can go get them and come back. I love her accent. We packed up all our stuff for the party, including our Mickey Santa hats, and went back for autographs. Now we went out to wait for the bus to the MK. This was our first time using the bus, we had driven to the parks before this (except for the boat to MGM and walk to Epcot). We had just missed one, but we only had to wait less than 10 minutes. We said goodbye
to my parents here. While we were waiting, I sat next to a woman who was going to DD to trade pins. She had one of those huge books with about a zillion pins it. Alexa was watching and saw a Simba pin she was moving. She said "you have Simba', and talked to the woman for a minute. Then the back fell off and rolled under our stroller. The woman told Alexa if she picked it up she could have the pin. Another wonderful moment of Disney magic.
Alexa went to find one of hers to give (she didn't really have any she wanted to trade anyway) but the woman stopped her and said she didn't one in return, she just wanted her to have it because she liked it so much. Then our bus came and we were off to MVMCP. I will write this in it's own report.
