Day 6 - December 5th

This was a non park morning for dh and the kids. They hung out at the BC and did laundry, while I went to The Dolphin Experience at Epcot. I didn't want to wake anyone when I got up, by pouring cereal, so I walked down to Beaches and Cream to get something to eat. The BC is such a pleasant place in the morning. It was 7 am, and the place was bustling, but quiet. I see Goofy, Chip and Dale in their swimsuits at Cape May, how can you beat that as
a way to start the day. I get to B&C, and the first thing I see are HUGE Mickey head shaped donuts. We have food in the room, but I had to get one for everyone, they were so cute. I ate mine while I walked and the kids were just waking up when I got back. I handed them their donuts and headed for Epcot. I was really surprised when I walked over, to discover just how close we were to Epcot, I was at Spaceship Earth in about 10 minutes (really
early, but I just used the extra time to force myself to go in some stores LOL). Walking through the World Showcase that early was almost spooky. I saw no one, until I hit Spaceship Earth. I think the 2000 on it looks absolutely wonderful. I just like to stop and stare at it for awhile. I went on my Dolphin Experience, which was fabulous! My guides, Dave and Scooter were so funny. And to hug a dolphin, is a great way to start the day. Getting
in a wetsuit with strangers, however, is a little weird LOL. When I was done I radioed back to see if they had eaten lunch yet. I didn't get a good signal until I got back into the WS. They had not eaten and I said I'd meet them at Hurricane Hanna's. I caught up to them quickly as I was so close. We really like Hurricane Hanna's, we ate here several times. PB&J is great for the kids, and their grilled chicken is wonderful, the most flavorful I
found on our trip. We got the mugs here too, and used them a ton while at the pool or on the way to the parks. After lunch we packed up the kid's stuff, they were going to spend the rest of the day and night at Fort Wilderness with Grandma and Grandpa!!! I thought they would do the campfire, but as it turned out, they closed down the MK, then at the buffet at the campground and watched a movie in the camper. They got Matthew to go on Pirates
though, and he loved it. They also trampled through the treehouse, which meant I didn't have to do it later!!! Dh and I then parked at the Contemporary, and took the monorail to the MK. This time they were doing their daily safety check, so took probably 20 minutes to get there. We went and waited for Big Thunder, probably about 20 minutes, I love this ride. We then went back to the Contemporary and ate at the Food N Fun center. We wanted to
hit MGM for Rock N Rollercoaster and Epcot for Test Track, but decided it was too late to do both. We went to Epcot since MGM closed at 7. Once again I was in awe when we saw the Christmas tree. Just beautiful!!! And the lights over the walkway, synched to the music. Then to see the big 2000 all lit up, I just stood and stared! After I recovered we headed to Test Track. As I expected, fastpasses were all gone, and the standby line was 70
minutes. I remembered everyone talk of the singles line, so we hit that line. We were probably in the preshow in 10 minutes. Without the kids, we had no problem riding alone. Dh ended up in the car in front of me, but that was fine. It was a blast. I almost lost my Mickey scrunchy in my hair, I grabbed it, just as it was about to blow out. We knew we must return the next day so Matthew could ride it. We wandered around a bit after that, and
saw O wait for Spaceship Earth, so we walked on there. Oh I forgot to mention my shopping here LOL. I had been looking for a Suede Jacket, with the 2000 Earth on it, and so far could not find it. But here I finally found it! I was so happy, and dh didn't even blink at the $195 price tag. He knew I had been wanting it, so he told me to buy it. We had a 10% off coupon from our hotel package so we did some Christmas shopping here too, and dh
bought a sweatshirt and we bought the Millennium video too. This was the biggest chunk of money I ever spent at Disney. And boy was I glad for hotel delivery as those bags were soooo heavy. After SE we wandered through the other half of the WS. We ended up riding the Maelstrom, as it was a total walk on. I don't like how you have to wait until time for the next movie before you can get out. I felt captive, we stood there for quite awhile. We
hadn't intended to see Illuminations again tonight, but by the time we got done in Norway and wandered further, we discovered it was 9:30. We were so glad we watched it, I just love it. It is so powerful, at least I thought so. We actually got a good spot right as it started. About 2 minutes in this couple comes up and literally shoves their mother in front of us, with her camcorder. Luckily she was short, so we could still see over her. When
she raised up her camcorder though, she got in my way. GRRRR. We got a good laugh though, when we looked at her camcorder screen and it said PAUSE ROFL!!! When she took it down to turn it off, she pushed the button and it said record, she missed the whole thing! After a good laugh, we strolled over to the boardwalk to get some champagne and dessert. We then sat in the hottub, that was right outside our patio. It felt so good, but brrrrr, it was
cold when we got out. I was very thankful for the thick warm robe that was in our closet. I wondered what they would charge me if I took it home LOL. Finally tonight I was able to sleep, could it be because my kids are sleeping somewhere else? LOL.

I'd love to hear all about the Dolphin swim. May be you could write up a more detailed report just about that. :)

The rest of your day sounds great. It brings back lots of memories of our trip to the Beach Club. :)

Thanks for sharing your trip with us, elgerber.

Had to chuckle about the lady butting in front of you and then she can't run the cam corder. Thanks for posting!
