Day 5 - December 4th

Today is the day we are having breakfast in the castle, and we are meeting my dad and stepmom who arrived last night from Cincinnati. We needed to leave the hotel around 7:15 to give us enough time to get to the castle by 8. We got up around 6:15 and frantically threw all the rest of our stuff into suitcases and bags, what a mess LOL. Of course by the time we got all our stuff together, it was a little later than planned, but what else is new. We
got to the parking lot of the MK and parked right up front, didn't even need to ride the tram. We were rushing by now to get there on time. We hopped on the first available monorail and thought we'd be right on time. Of course they weren't running the express, and we had to stop at the hotels first. Then they announced there was a traffic jam on the tracks, and we had to stop and just sit twice, and wait. When we finally got there it was about 1
minute before eight. Dh told me to run ahead to check in and they would catch up. I flew to the castle, huffing and puffing LOL, and had to wait while the guy in front of me checked in. The hostess was none too friendly, kept asking him is the rest of the party here, he said they are right behind me, she kept repeating are they physically here, I will not check you in unless they are here, over and over. I figured great, I ran for nothing. His
party showed up just then, and as I was about to step up, mine showed up too LOL. We were seated immediately and the kids were all excited to see all the Princesses in the dining room. They gave us a choice of regular or healthy breakfast, duh, regular, and we got our food almost immediately. That deep fried cream cheese french toast thing is fabulous, even my dh liked it, and he's not a cream cheese fan. Alexa ate 3 or 4 pancakes, in between
meeting the princesses. We were visited by Jasmine, Aladdin, Cinderella, Snow White and Belle. Belle was our favorite, she was so pretty. It must be hard to look that good and be so sweet all the time LOL. After we were done, we were still early to meet my dad, so we rode Peter Pan, finally, and then hit Small World again. We met dad and the kids dragged them back on Peter Pan and Small World LOL. We took the two ways and went and got Fast
passes for Space Mountain and Buzz. We still had some time before fastpass time, and Alexa wanted to do the teacups. UGH, no dizzy stuff for me. So she and dh went and got dizzy and the rest of went to check out Goofy's Barnstormer. I had heard how awful this line can be, so I asked what the wait was and they guy said, "walk on", so grandma, Matthew and I got in line. Ds was a little nervous, but I told him it would be over before he could get
scared. He ended up loving it, and when dd came back from the teacups, dd, ds, dh and grandpa all rode the Barnstormer. Now it was time for Space Mountain, my first time ever to ride this. I had convinced myself before we left, I would ride. I hate roller coasters, but because of the big hills, and was told there were no big hills here. Dad says, so you'll be off in about an hour or so? I say "no way, we got fastpasses", they are clueless about
these so far. We walked past all the huge lines of people waiting and were on in minutes (have I said how much I love fastpass?). And I survived, it's not scary, but it's so hard on your neck and back. I was glad I rode it, but don't think I would hurry to ride it again. I'm glad it wasn't any longer or I'd have been a little woozy. Now it's fastpass time for Buzz. Now dad gets to see fastpass work firsthand. We left Alexa with daddy, and
strolled in past the 40-minute standby line. I have never seen them let people in the standby line in, when we rode, they just keep letting the fastpass people in while the others stand and wait. Grandma and Grandpa were sold on fastpass now. After Buzz we headed to Adventureland, we hadn't even seen this side of the park yet LOL. We got fastpasses for the Jungle Cruise, I like this ride, but will not wait 20 minutes for it. Grandma, Grandpa and
I walked onto Pirates, couldn't' convince ds to go. The kids went and drove those little token operated boats while we rode. I radioed them to come to the exit of Pirates, because Hook and Smee were there. They were a riot, I was wearing a Tinkerbell shirt, and I couldn't figure out at first, why Smee kept poking my shirt, and signaling to hook. I finally figured it out, when Hooked shook his head when he pointed to Tink, and then I heard Smee
make spitting noises at me. They were so much fun. We had lunch at Pecos' Bills, while we waited for our fastpass time. This place was a mob scene, very long lines, and tons of full tables. Back to the Jungle Cruise, and dd was sure she would hate it, but she went very unhappily. She ended up loving it, and we both got wet backs from the waterfall. We wanted to do Big Thunder next, but the line was way too long, so we strolled over to the
Haunted Mansion. I have never done this either, and this was the only time we stood in the standby line instead of using fastpass. The wait said 20 minutes, so we got in line and sent the parents and kids to get fastpasses for Pooh. It was about 1:30, and they radioed to say they were already out for the day. Oh well, they would wander around. We got on the HM in about 15 minutes, and I had to laugh at the fastpass people, cuz I could here them
calling us stupid for standing in line, and I knew exactly what they meant, as I had said that several times myself LOL. After we were done, we radioed and grandpa said, Matthew and grandma were in line for the speedway. Matthew had been dying to ride this, but we kept saying no, because we didn't want to wait in the long sllloooow line, but he talked Grandma into it. We got there right about as they were taking off, and his smile said Grandma's
patience paid off. He was grinning ear to ear, as she let him drive the car. After the speedway we decided to head out and check in at the Beach Club. The parents said they'd meet us at the hotel and we'd get dinner and we told them we would take them to the Osborne lights, because we loved it so much. We got to the Beach Club and valet parked, since their parking lot is a mess. We checked in, and went to search for our room, the hallways are
very windy, and semi confusing on your first walk down them. We found the bell services guy waiting at the end of our hallway with our luggage from the ASMo. He showed us to our room and opened the door for us. WOW! I had been told when I called in our requests, that we had been upgraded to a deluxe room, and was it ever! We had a huge foyer, a long hallway, 2 dressers, the armoire with the TV and minibar, a huge closet, a daybed, coffee table,
cushioned wicker chair, table and 2 chairs and 2 queen beds. We had 3 large windows, 2 of them looked out at the quiet pool, which was right outside our garden patio and the other window looked out to the Boardwalk. I said right away, it's going to be really hard to stay at the ASMo again after this. Dad finally showed up about 5, and we decided to go look for dinner. We decided we'd try the Backlot Express at MGM, since we knew where it was now
LOL. But, by the time we got there it was closed. The only counter service place still open, and not outdoors in the cold, was the ABC Commissary. We had passed this place over earlier in the week, thinking they didn't have much for us on the menu. We were wrong, they had great fish and chips, and white rice for my dd, which is one of her very favorite things. After dinner we had another wonderful stroll through the lights, enjoying them even
more this time, as we left the camera and camcorder behind this time. After the lights, we headed back to the room to go to bed. Did I mention before that at the ASMo, we had been sleeping with the kids? I am a very light sleeper and my kids are nocturnal gymnasts, so needless to say, I had not slept well in 4 nights. I was looking forward to my kids sleeping alone, and having dh, who sleeps still, back with me. And the queen beds helped too. Of
course tonight, Alexa decided to get a cold, and when she is stuffy, she does not sleep well, she cries in her sleep instead. She only did this a couple of times, but enough to keep me awake a while. Oh well, maybe tomorrow night I'll sleep well LOL.

Isnt it funny how everything seems to slow down when you have a ps and are running late! I'm glad you got there and went right in.

I glad you made it to your breakfast on time. Especially after what you have to go through to get the ps's. :) I couldn't imagine being a princess. I don't think I could keep it up for more than about 5 minutes. :D

Your room at the Beach Club sounds beautiful. Isn't that view of the Boardwalk georgeous?

Thanks for sharing your trip with us. :)
