Early Dec. waitlist - go day by day or all at once?

I'll be calling next week at the 7-month window to change my early December reservation from BCV to BWV. I think I'm gonna take the gamble and waitlist day-by-day as it seems like this may increase my chances of getting what I want. Anybody else going to try changing resorts for early December? Any thoughts on chances of success or experiences in doing this?

We got our last wait list day by calling about every hour on the way down. This was the week after Christmas. Otherwise, we would have to have checked in, checked out, checked in someplace else, then out then in again. Good luck. So far when we have been waitlisted we always got what we wanted. But this last time was close.

Even though you stand a better chance with day by day, you may want to be careful of that becuase you don't want to potentially check in and out every other day if only part of the wait list comes through. I would do the whole thing. The worst that can happen is that you will stay at the BCV, which is pretty darn good itself.

Ask MS how many days are available when you call. If you can get a large portion of the trip, I'd take those days and do a day-by-day waitlist.

If you can only get a couple days (or less), I'd just waitlist for the whole thing. It's entirely possible that someone will cancel a stay that encompasses your desired timeframe. But if not, I wouldn't want to risk it as Happy Birthday Cat said.

Be sure to post your results after you call. I'm curious to hear about what sort of success people are having. Seems like there will be a lot of resort shuffling--people who make Home ressies at 11 months trying to move at 7.

We're in a similar situation except going for VWL. But as none of us are actually tired of BCV yet after two trips, we won't take any chance of a split stay. In fact DW would probably be happier if we don't get VWL at all...

I'm going to try to switch from VWL to OKW-GV for Dec 18-25. I know my chances are slim but figured I gotta try. Maybe there is someone out there that really wants to be at VWL for Christmas.

We are also hoping to switch resorts at the 7 month mark. We have ressies at OKW Dec 6-10 and are just trying for anything different. Not that we don't love OKW but we are going for our anniversary and would really like a different atmosphere.

Just FYI we were able to switch our Labor Day week 2 br from OKW to VWL with no problem at all. I just called and got the whole week changed.

We are planning on Memorial Day 2005 at OKW so provided we get a switch for the December trip we will have gone 3 times in 3 different resorts in a year.....COOL!!!!
