Just curious...how willing are the resorts for either of these? Is there a charge?

Reason for asking is that our flight in will land at 12:17 so we would probably be at the resort by 1:30 or 2pm at the latest. What are the chances of getting in?

Our flight out leaves at 4:45pm so we probably wouldn't need to leave until 2:30pm or so....is check out time noon or 11am? Are late checkouts an option? If not, can bell services store our luggage until we are ready to go?

Not sure if the resort matters...still in the choosing phase...but probably a moderate. ;)

You can check in as early at 8 am, but they won't guarantee your room is ready until 3. However, you might get lucky and have your room ready before that.

Also, sometimes the resorts will let you have a late check out of 1pm. But even if they don't, bell services can store your luggage all day so you can enjoy the parks.

We have had late check out several times at the CR. Once we were told we had to call the morning that we wanted late check out and ask for it, and another time, we requested it at check in and the CM said no problem and noted it on our room info.

If you get late check out, there isn't a charge before 1pm. They start pro rating the room anytime after 1pm.

I'm not sure about the mods, but it certainly never hurts to ask!

Early check in is also a hit or miss. If you check in and your room is ready, they will let you in it. If it isn't, they will take your luggage and store it and deliver it to your room when you arrive. They will give you a number that you can call to see when you room is ready.

1-3pm is a half day rates after that it is a full day. And there is only a limited amount of late c/o so if they are filled up they won't give you one.

At Cornado Springs I called the morning of check-out and they gave a 1pm check-out with NO problem. When at All Star Music I requested at check in, and they told us it was as good as done (1pm). In August, I will be at the S&D on their site they offer a late checkout, but with a $35 fee attached. I also arrived at Cornado Springs @ 9:30am and we were able to check in AND go to our room immediately :)

Checked into the AKL at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, March 16. They had a room ready.

The rooms were NOT preassigned as they were training a new desk clerk (he used to work at Disneyland, CA) and the instructor CM choose our room from a list of available rooms. After looking over her computer screen for a few minutes, she said, "Here's a good room, give them this one."

It was a GREAT room: Zebra Trail, Savannah view, no smoking, 10 rooms down the hall from the main building, lower level, just a few steps from the pool and the self service cafeteria.

BUT, this is the first time that Disney had a room ready for me before 4 pm.

We have checked-in as early as 8:00 a.m., but the room wasn't ready, but you get your passes (if using UPH's) and they keep your luggage, so you're all set for the parks. Only a couple of times has our room been ready before about 2:00 p.m. or so, a couple of times it was 3:30 or 4:00.

Most people do check in between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m., so you may have a line!

I've only asked for late check-out one time, that was last Dec. at the BC, and was able to get a check-out of 1:00 p.m., no charge. But, it was a slower time, I'm sure it's harder to get during peak season, if available at all!!

Have fun planning your trip!!

we always check in early (6-7am) because we drive overnight and are usually hitting wdw about 5:30 to 6:00am...most times, the room's not ready yet and the resort just takes our luggage and they bring it to the room later when we return to the resort...we actually got in the room at 7am last year at POFQ(shocked the heck out of us)....late check-out is usually no problem until 1pm....early check-in is the way to go....better chance of getting room request and no lines early in the morning...

No late check outs at DVC resorts. Early check in is no problem at DVC.

We have checked in as early as 6am, no problem. Rooms have been ready.

Sometimes we check in at 2pm..rooms aren't ready.

If a room is ready, they will let you in it immediately, if not...they will tell you to go have some fun. Your luggage will be stored until the room is ready. They told us to ask anyone in the parks to use the phone..dial a certain number to check if our room was ready yet..and gave us an approximate time to call. Worked out great!

I will be checking in early when I get to WDW in Sept. 6 02 7 am. My question is should I come back form the parks around 12 so I can make sure I get a room close to one of the pools at the ft wildreness cabins or will take my request when I check in at 7 am? If the pool area is not the most popular place to be at the cabins can someone tell me where that would be . I am not taking kids so playground is not important.

no need to come back at noon...just tell the front desk what you want when you check in at 7am...just remember, there is no gaurantee you will get a specific room location, but, your chances are better checking in early and giving them your request then(especially if you're willing to wait for later in the day before getting in your room)...

At the Dolphin.... (different rules, I know) I was checked in and upgraded to the epcot fireworks view at 1pm on Fri. 3/19 AND given a 4pm checkout for no additional charge Tuesday 3/23.

It helps if you have your reservation noted that you will probably be checking in early. That way, if possible, the room assigner will assign you to a room that wasn't occupied the night before if there is one available.

Thanks so much for all the information!! I will definitely take all of your tips with me! :)

Can someone tell me were the best cabins are to stay at FW cabin. I understand that just because I ask for a certin room that I might not get it. But anything is worth a try.if I ask for a room by the pool is that far from were we pick up the boat to go to the MK. I think that is the the only park we will be taking a boat to. The other parks we will more and likely take the car. DM will have a scooter and it just seems like it will be eariser to take the car with the scooter than buses or boat rides.
