Has anyone ever checked into their Villa early? We're staying at BCV and this is the third time we've stayed at a Villa. The last 2 times we were unable to do early check-in. We go during value season but not September.

I read somewhere that because of the extra cleaning, it's almost impossible to get into a villa early. Is that really the case?

I'm just trying to manage my expectations. If I should plan not to get in until after 4, I'll do that and go off to find some fun!

It's not impossible to get in early; I've gotten into villas at 8 AM, lunchtime, early afternoon, and had to wait until after 4 in a couple of cases.

It's just the luck of the draw. It depends on how full the resort is and how many villas needed to be cleaned that morning. I always stop at the resort as soon as I arrive on property and check-in, if the room's not ready I drop my bags will bell services and go on my way.

When we were at BCV in Oct, we could have checked in at 7am and taken a room over the quiet pool. The CM at the desk told us if we waited until 3 we could have an Epcot view on the 5th floor. So we waited until almost 4 for our room, and ended up with a woods view, lol.

This is only our thrid trip as a family, but our standing rule is to overnight offsite and get to the resort ASAP for check in, if it doesn't work out...off to the parks!

We always check in early, usually by 8:00AM and get our room keys. However, we never get our room early. Out of the last 15 DVC stays (the last 2 years) we've only gotten into our room early once. Not a very good track record. We've also found that whenever we have a bigger unit (2 bedroom) we seldom even get in by 4:00PM, usually closer to 5:00PM. Because of this we are at BWV studio in April and switching to a 1 bedroom when the rest of the family arrives. We have opted to keep our BWV studio an extra night just so the babies have a place to nap. I know this will cost us 14 extra points, but worth it to not having a room all day. Plan for your room not to be ready and maybe you'll get lucky.

We are 2 out of 4 in the past 4 years at the BCVs for checking in early and getting our room at that time. :)

Don't know if this helps, but for our xmas stay (dec.21-28) at the BCV we checked in at 11:00am and our room was ready and waiting for us. :woohoo:

The earliest I've been able to physically get in the room has been around 9:00am at OKW. November at the BCV's we were in about noonish. I check in immediately upon arriving and have my luggage stored.

I'm just preparing myself for our room at the bcv to not be ready! and if it is be pleasantly surprised!

I rarely arrive before 4pm for a villa, for some reason... probably because we drive down with kids and when we are alone, we fly and often stay in a regular room somewhere (we are total resort junkies!).

Anyhoo, it HAS happened... OKW we got right in at 9am (transferring from SSR) to a studio (early October trip on a Sunday). SSR in late September, I could have gotten a 1BR at noon, but I wanted a DD view so I opted to wait until 4pm for that 1BR. That was on a Saturday. VWL in mid-November, we got our studio as soon as we arrived from Port Canaveral on a Saturday... that was about 10am. That was also on a Saturday.

Hope this helps! It IS possible... but it is also a lot about luck. :goodvibes

scubamouse - if they tell you room is not ready - ask for 'room ready' - and see if this helps.

now this won't be the room you requested if you requested one.

About the only way a room is going to be ready in the morning is if it was empty the night before.

The one time we got in early was at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge, during off season last late August.

The bellman was very surprised that we had a room ready!

It was about 11:30 a.m. and I got the impression it was a rare event.

At 4:01 this last August I went to check in to see if our room was ready. They said it'd be ready around 5. We were dripping wet from a dip in SAB followed by a thunderstorm so I asked if they had ANY room ready. They did and we grabbed it. I hadn't requested any room, but it was clear that they had a room picked out for us :goodvibes

Thanks thought, I'll try that a little earlier in the day this years:thumbsup2
