We will be arriving early on the day of check in, what are our chances of getting into our room right away we should be arriving about 10 am.

If we can't get into our room we will have some frozen foods and refridgerated items will they take them from us to store them and when our room is ready to they take our luggage and food into our room??

so far I have been lucky with SSR and AKV for early check in... and so if there is a room ready they will get you in

For frozen stuff.. Last Sunday the room as not ready at AKV but we have a birthday cake that needed refrigiration ... just tell the bell desk where you are going to have your luggage dropped off for the time being and they will reffrigerate it for you(this was the case last week for me.. but then again I have not had any dealings with OKW.. sohopefully it will be the same for all Resort for your convenience).

I never seem to have luck with early check in at OKW. I always tend to arrive between 11 and 12 and am told my room isnt ready

I have arrived early on a number of occasions. I would say that I usually don't get in before 4, I would say I rarely get in before 2pm but I have been in as early as 10:30am.

I know... not much help but just the way I see it

Getting into our room at OKW after an early check-in has been hit & miss. It really depends upon the number arrivals & departures that day, and if they have a room of your size in your booking category (OKW now has a near Hospitality House booking category).

I've usually gotten in to the room by 2 pm, have occassionally gotten a room as early as 8am, but have often had to wait until 4 pm. I think they have an area to store refrigerated good, but perhaps not frozen. Maybe bell services can store frozen items at the General Store.

Love. Love. Love Old Key West --- haven't gotten into our room before 4 sometimes 5 in years.

We have gotten into our room at 8:00 am, and other times at 4:00 pm or later. It varies with the day and season. This last time we did have food and they did keep it frozen for us. Just check it in at bell services. Have a great trip. You'll love OKW.

We love OKW but of all the resorts, this is the one that we have had to wait, on average, the longest to get our rooms.

Not complaining as we have always enjoyed our stays but definitely had to wait longer there, in our experience.

In general, we have had better success when coming in with ME rather than renting a car. As well, we have had better success in the DVC's that are attached to a regular hotel.

Just our experience....

I've probably had in the region of 30 OKW check-ins and I've got into my room at 7 am maybe 20% of the time but before 4 pm 100% of the time! I normally check in on Sunday and would say that between 2 and 3 pm is the most common time for me. I have left chilled food (but not frozen) with Bell Services and it's been taken care of.

If you are driving, arriving before the first “loaded” ME bus (typically 9+am) will improve your odds, but there are no guarantees.

We did not have good luck involving OKW early check in back in September. Apparently we were not alone because we met 4 other families waiting in the lounge area too. One poor guy was even napping! Amazingly we all called at 4:00 and everyone's room was magically ready.

Do you have any special room requests? You could do the online check-in. During this process you will be asked what time the first member of your party will be arriving. We did this and our room was ready at 8:30 AM, which is when we said we would be arriving.

We checked in Sunday 4/19-reserved Near HH. Arrived around 10:30. 2 studios were ready. One 2BR was ready when we called around 1:00. The other 2BR was ready when we got back to OKW around 4 (hadn't called earlier)
I assume it was a HUGE check-out day because the security area at the airport was packed. The end of some Easter vacations.

I think it also depends on what size unit. Obviously, the bigger the unit the longer to clean it. We stayed at OKW 2 bedroom last year and didn't get into our room until 5:30PM. We checked in at noon. We also moved during that trip and checked into the BCV 2 bedroom around 11:00 and didn't get into that room until 5:45PM. When we stay in a studio, we generally get that room before 4:00PM.

OKW Bell stand has both a frig and a freezer. They will be happy to keep your food for you - - but they don't usually deliver to your room - you would have to get your groceries when your room is ready.

Good to know...:thumbsup2 I am driving down 6/1 staying offsite then moving over to SSR. I plan to check in as soon as possible and would love to get in the room but doesn't really matter I just want to hit the parks asap!

If I am in town already I am at the resort at 7AM
