Hi all. Quick question. Do I have to do early check in so Garden Grocer can deliver to my cabin if they get there before I do? All help appreciated.

No, it will be waiting in your cabin when you get there. I'm not sure if GC delivers to the cabin or if they deliver it to the Outpost check in and they have a cast member deliver it. We have been using their service for years

DisneyZB,

I have no personal experience with delivered groceries but I have read the answer on here often enough. The answer is early check-in is not required. Everyone has a pre-assigned campsite or cabin and if the groceries are delivered before you arrive for a cabin stay, Disney will give the delivery person the cabin number and the groceries have been placed in the cabin refrigerator in the past. That cabin is held for you until you arrive.

Thanks guys for the quick reply. Never done grocery delivery before, so I wasn't sure. Glad to have one less thing to worry about.

So this begs the question.... Much like the "Sites" once you get there, there may be something that needs changing. (Too far from bus station, not accessible enough, etc...) So if you have to "Change", is it incumbent on you, the guest, to then "Move" the groceries? What if you need to change it before you even get a key to the cabin? (i.e. during the check-in process)?

Just curious. It's not an issue for us, because we "Bring" our food with us in the TT. Much cheaper that way.

Just like what Bama Ed said. Have done Garden Grocer twice in The Fort when we stayed in the cabins and once at OKW. When you order from GG you are able to pick an available arrival window to have your order delivered. Both times in The Fort we arrived after 7p but scheduled delivery for before we arrived. First time I want to say we were able to get a delivery window from 2-4pm and the second time from 5-7pm. We like to have it waiting in case we need a quick snack or drink when we arrive. I want to say the first time they may have told us at check-in that our order was in the cabin, but we had gotten a text while in the air so we already knew it had arrived. The second time it arrived after we did as they were running late, they either called or texted to give us a heads up but it was no big deal. I want to say it was there by 745pm. Will be using them again in October.

I'm not sure if GC delivers to the cabin or if they deliver it to the Outpost check in and they have a cast member deliver it.

1) Deliveries are made to Bell Services (at The Fort, this is at the Outpost).
. . . the food is accepted
. . . if cooling is needed, it is placed within the Sub-Zero at the Outpost
2) Bell Services can be called when you arrive, and they will deliver the food to your cabin.
3) They are not supposed to enter the cabin/room without you being present.

I guess that qualifies as a change in policy, Scupper. ED

1) Not really.
2) Bell Services is not supposed to enter a room without the guest present.
. . . there is a liability issue for claims of missing room items.
. . . the Bellman usually can't get a tip without someone there
3) DME luggage is different.
. . . there is liability coverage for entry.
. . . by union contract, delivery of DME luggage has a predetermined tip amount for the Bellman paid by Disney.
. . . on a daily basis, DME delivery bellman make GREAT tip amounts

So it sounds like, one way or another, it's all about the $$$$.
There's a surprise! :lmao:

I used to use WeGoShop and they would only deliver to our cabin after we arrived. That may have changed though. I have used Garden Grocer once or twice and found them to be expensive.

In any event, I wouldn't want them to deliver it to the cabin because 2 out of 3 times, when I ask to see the map of the cabin location if I'm not that sure where it is, I've asked for them to change it. That's because I don't want to be near a bus stop, particularly if the stop is behind the cabin, or anywhere else it might be really noisy or heavily trafficked.
