Early breakfast at Donald's in AK

I think this has been covered before, but up until my last visit, I didn't think I would ever use the information. How early can you make reservations at Donalds Restaurantauros? And what if the reservation is before the park opens?

It varies so I would call WDW DINE and ask for earliest possible on date you want. We had to show PS # to CM at gate and they came olut w/ a clipboard and called off the parties w/early PS. We were in park for 1/2 before it opened after kids ate. The buffet was ok but I thought it was over priced for McDonalds. Donald Duck was there for pics and other characters too. Kids liked it.

When I called WDW Dining to make ADRs for our May '06 trip, I was told 8:00 a.m was the earliest for Donald's. HTH!

i made a ressie for easter sunday the earliest ressie was for 8 which was when the park was open!!! I opted for a 9 30 so that we can get there at opening, run to the safari line and then go to the breakfast....I was reallly hoping they would have a seating before park opens

We are going in just a few weeks and we are there the park opens at 9am and our ressie for Donalds is at 8:30 so we do get to enter the park early, but like the other posters said 8am is the earliest reservation for breakfast.

We were there last September. Our ressie was for 8a.m, the park opened at 9. Cast members were at the entrance to check us in. There was a photopass photographer there as soon as we got in to take our picture, which was great becuse there was no one else in our picture.

CMs were on the path that lead to Breakfastasouras, they guided us so that we went right to the restaurant.

After we ate we were able to go right to the Safari and be one of the first in line.

We had Donald's breakfast in January with an 8:00 ressie. They did start letting those with breakfast reservations into the Animal Kingdom park at around 7:45.

For early breakfast at Donald's a Cast Member will call names and escort people in groups over to the restaurant. Kind of interesting walking through the AK with no one else around. There is a turnstile clearly maked for Donald's breakfast so look for it when you arrive.

As a side note I have 8:00 adr's and was wondering what time will I be able to catch the bus to AKL for breakfast? I will be staying at Pop. Anyone know?

I was wondering the same thing. I am planning to make ADRs at Donald's for the earliest available. However, the park will not be open yet. Will I still be able to catch a bus from POR?

I found this information on the the WDW website.

Animal Kingdom: Disney Bus service will begin 1 hour prior to the park opening time listed for that day. Bus service for Character Breakfasts begins ½ hour before the earliest seating. The marquee on the bus will read "Character Breakfast." It should be noted that guests should verify with the driver which park the bus is going to for the character breakfast because there are different ones for different parks.

Actually the busses start running before that. Tyler, who is a moderator on this forum, used to drive the busses at WDW. the Busses to AK leave the bus depot at 7AM. His rule of thumb is be out at the bus stop 45 minutes before your ADR. This is to cover the case where you just missed the previous bus.
