We will be arriving at the swan around 10 AM on Nov. 17th. We had to take an early flight. We had not planned to do a park that day because initially we thought we would be arriving later. This is our first WDW trip so what are some things we can do near or around the Swan without going to the parks??? We do have a plus option for disney quest, these hoppers were thru my husband company. Could someone explain Disney quest to me?? Any info would be helpful.

"DQ is entirely contained in a large five-story building. You might call it the video arcade/virtual theme park/entertainment center of the future. According to the official Disney Web page, "Create your own adventures in this one-of-a-kind indoor interactive Theme Park bursting with games that give "state-of-the-art" new meaning. Discover five floors exploding with cutting-edge technology, virtual reality and 3-D experiences — all fueled by Disney innovation and imagination. The entry portal, Ventureport, leads to four different zones: the Explore Zone, a virtual Adventureland; the Score Zone, for superhero quests; the Create Zone, for artistic endeavors; and the Replay Zone for nostalgic fun. Anyway you cut it, you're in the Zone at DisneyQuest!"

For more info on DQ, go to Allearsnet.com (Beyond the Theme Parks). It all depends whether you like this kind of thing.

We stayed at the Swan last Thanksgiving day and arrived around 4 pm. Never been to Disney Quest but here are some other things you could do without using up a day on your Park Hopper or Plus Option (not sure if you have kids with you so that may influence your decision):

1. If it's warm enough, check out the grotto pool. It is a beautiful pool with slide and waterfalls. You can buy drinks at the pool. It was only 70ish air temp when we were there and the water was cool, but we loved it.

2. Walk the boardwalk area and visit the other resorts on foot, including Yacht & Beach Club, Boardwalk, and Dolphin Resorts. Browse in the resort gift shops. Get a chocolate croissant at the boardwalk bakery.

3. Play mini golf. It is a short walk from the Swan.

4. Plan a nice dinner or late lunch. There are many, many choices of places to eat in all price ranges between the resorts and the boardwalk area restaurants. Again, all a short walk.

5. If you have a car (not sure if the busses go there), visit Downtown Disney. Only will take you 5 minutes to get there. Lots of cool shops and even more places to eat. If you are not with kids, visit Pleasure Island at night.

6. If you don't mind using up a day on your Park Hopper, might as well walk on over or take the water taxi to Epcot or MGM. Epcot is a very relaxing place to walk around and a good way to get your feet wet at Disney. The only disadvantage is that the Future World section of the park will have been open at least an hour before you get there, so there will be lines for some of the major attractions. But you can get by OK using FastPASS.

Good luck!
