If we check in early before the room is ready, does the front desk notify you when the room is ready by text? Or do they assign you a room at check in, give you your key, and tell you to come back after 4? We are headed to SeaWorld on arrival day and wanted to go ahead and check in at Royal Pacific that morning.

They will hold your luggage and notify you when your room is ready.
If you were going to the Universal Parks you could have your picture taken in the lobby and get your express pass issued.

They give you your key cards when you check in, but don't give you a room number. They call or text you when the room is ready, with the room number. They'll also deliver your luggage to your room. So once you get the message, you can go straight to your room and unpack - you don't have to go back to the front desk for anything.

That has never happened for us. :(

Though maybe it's b/c our room has always been ready? Don't quote me on that, but I know we've always had to call down for our bags; nothing has ever just shown up.

when you are at the check in counter, tell the TM that you want them to deliver your luggage from valet once the room is assigned.

they won't deliver while you are not in the room unless you request it.

Our experience a few weeks ago - we checked in around 10 AM, and asked the person at check in to deliver the bags to our room as soon as it was ready. She just needed to see our bag check ticket. Got a text around 1 PM that the room was ready, and when we went back at 3 PM, the bags were all there.

if you use the valet for your bags, you get a claim check.
be sure to show the front desk before you leave for the parks so they will deliver your belongings to your room once it is available.
