Early arrival and buying passes

We're flying in on Sat evening and staying offsite until Sun when we'll check into BWV (which was booked solid for Sat night, hence the offsite stay). We'll be bringing our luggage over on Sun morning to be held until we can check in. My question is, can we buy our passes before we check in (at the resort) and still get our room key put on the passes when they are issued to us later? Or will I be stuck with lugging around park passes on separate cards? I doubt they will let us check in before 4pm, but obviously we want to start our touring before then.

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but you can check in, your room just may not be ready. They will give you your room key (with your passes), take your luggage and you will just have to wait to get into the room until it is ready.

I've checked in as early as 9:30 am. The CM will give you a card with a phone #. You can use a "house" phone later in the day to find out what your room # is and if it is ready. That way you don't have to wait in line at the ressie desk. It worked great. They will also let you have access to your luggage if you need it.
