Early April Tickets - what would you do?

We have 1-day tickets to Magic Kingdom for April 9th for our family of 5. We are considering canceling the whole trip. Do you think we would be able to get a refund for these tickets now? Should we wait until they extend the closure to April before getting a refund? I'm not very interested in rescheduling with this uncertainty. Thank you - we are first timers with no Disney experience.

If you can, I think you need to do a "wait and see" for now. If the majority of the country can/will hunker down from now until the end of this month, things should look much better for everyone. At least, that is the hope. Waiting until then will give you a much better idea of what you need to do.

Calling right now won't really get you anywhere anyway. There are literally THOUSANDS of people trying to do something about the trip they had planned during the closure. Wait at least through this week before you try to call and talk through your options.

I'd wait if you can. I can't imagine it will be open April 9th but I've been wrong many times about many things.

I think it's unlikely they'll refund you right this minute. Again, I'd wait.

I don't believe they are refunding tickets regular theme park tickets, only AH or EMM. Unused tickets retain their value and can be used as a credit towards a future ticket. You should be able to change the date and/or upgrade via MDE. Or hold onto it for a future visit if you aren't ready to set a new date now.

Unless there is a lot more to your plans than just the 1 day at WDW, I would take a bit of a wait-and-see approach for another week or two.

Enjoy your vacation!

We are scheduled for the end of April. For now, we ar waiting to see what happens.
The parks may or may not be open at that time, which may make the decision for us.

Same as gharter...scheduled for last week of April and playing the wait and see game as well

We are supposed to be go to Disneyland at the same time and I highly doubt they will reopen by then. Granted, California has more cases than Florida. We cancelled our trip and will try to go another time. But I wouldn’t try to call right now. Everyone with trips this month will be calling and you have plenty of time.

I have a trip planned April 9-13.

I am not doing a thing at the moment, just waiting to see what happens. Since we are not included in the posted the closure dates, and all of those who are impacted in March need to talk to a CM about their trip in March, I patiently waiting for our turn.

My trip is April 2-5, only planned 2 park days. I'm waiting it out. Disney will make the decision for me. If it's open, I'm going. I've already got another trip booked for the fall. If they extend the closure, I may or may not try to move the dates to late April or Early May depending on DVC availability.

I’m scheduled for April 3-12 and am still waiting to see if we can go..
Same here... supposed to fly in on April 3rd for a Disney/Universal/NASA/beach trip. Don't know what to do at the moment and assume that they are terribly busy adjusting all with March plans. We probably just need to see what the next few weeks bring. So for now, I'm just going to wait it out.

Me too.

I’m watching and waiting. I’ve been itching to get down for a quick three day trip and am ready to pull the trigger. Only with school closures I don’t have to wait for our mid April spring break. If they actually open April 1, I’m there! But I’m hesitant to book it just yet. Going to watch over the next week and decide.

We are scheduled April 3-9th then go to Universal for a few days. We are not doing anything right now but I'm thinking about options if we postpone. Going to wait a week or so and see where things are headed. Schools in our area are closed until end of March, all sports until mid-April so now it's wait and see. If they are open, I"d love to keep our plans but not sure that's even the best thing right now

All anyone can do is wait and see.

The problem now is waiting for the incubation period and the time it takes for symptoms to present themselves for folks that have already been exposed and then waiting for the test results. There are many closures already in effect around the country, but many are not fully implemented yet. And there will probably be other closures not even on the radar yet. The big unknown is if any mandated restrictions are implemented in the future as part of the national emergency or if local Florida emergency response measures are triggered and what they mean for WDW.

I personally wouldn't hold out much hope that WDW will be reopening after a 2 week closure if the numbers of folks affected around the country continue to rise dramatically over this period - especially if the numbers of cases in Florida and surrounding states take a jump during this time. I'm thinking the closure would be amended to 4 or 5 weeks minimum but would love to be wrong.

From what I understand, If the parks are still closed, Disney will convert your tickets so they can be used any day between now and the end of the year. If that doesn't work for you, I'd request a refund now.
