What a week this has been!!!! A letter, seeing his picture on television and a phone call this morning.
His voice sounded good - upbeat. He said it was time for evening chow (they're 9 hours ahead of us). They were told today by their Lt. Col. that when they wake up tomorrow, they should have an idea of what this week holds. He said that their general feeling is that they're ready for this thing to "kick off" so that they can "do our job and come home." He said that the days are extremely boring right now. They've trained and trained until they know it forward and backward. They are so bored right now that they've been having rock/scissor/paper contests.
It was 100 degrees there today.
Morale is good - they're all just getting a little "stir crazy", definately "missing home".
He's received 5 care packages from home - one of which included 3 week old homemade chocolate chip cookies. I asked if they were stale, and he said "that they didn't last long enough to even think about it."
Just wanted to fill you in!! My day is complete.
