We have an early ADR at Chef Mickey's for 7:30am. I'm wondering if the buses will get us from POFQ to the Contemporary on time for this ressie. I am aware we might have to go to Magic Kingdom first then over to Contemporary... but I've read elsewhere that sometimes the buses will take you directly to the resorts during the early morning. Am I right to assume this?

Has anyone experienced early ADRs like this and had to use Disney transportation to get there? Will the buses start running early enough?

Someone please reassure me!

You can walk very easily from the POFQ's MK bus stop to the CR. If you're nervous, you can always grab a cab. It shouldn't be more than a few dollars.:thumbsup2

we have an early Chef Micky ADR (like 7 AM) and plan on using a cab to make sure we'll be there on time. But we're staying at SSR which is much farther i'm sure.

Honestly, I've never heard of the buses going from resort to resort, BUT I just reserved a 7:35 am ADR at Cape May Cafe and the CM on the WDW-DINE line told me that the early morning buses do go to resorts and parks offering character meals.

I figure we'll go down to the bus stop and if a bus doesn't come along within a few minutes, we'll grab a cab.

This CAN happen and will depending on crowd levels and circumstances. For example, we walked out of Hoop Dee Do Musical Revue a few years back and a bus was there to take us back to POFQ. It was great! :)

Now that one I knew about! :rotfl:

The buses for all resort guests will be at the HDDR when MK closes early.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

So we will have a Plan A or Plan B, if the Disney buses fail us. Those being:

Plan A: If my sister (currently a CM) is not working that morning (or the whole day), we'll steal her car and drive over to CR

Plan B: If a bus does not arrive by 6:45am to take us to MK or CR, we'll call a taxi

If we are not actual guests at the CR, will they let us park there? Or should we park in the MK parking lots and somehow walk over to CR?

We took a cab from POFQ to the Grand Floridian a couple of weeks ago to make sure our boys got to their pirate cruise on time. We were actually there about 30 minutes early, but it was SO worth it! It was nice not to feel stressed about making it on time. I think it cost around $15.

do not depend on the buses they start around 7:30. best bet get a cab to the hotel.

jenbear123,
If you do take the early morning bus from POFQ to the Magic Kingdom and then use the walkway to the Contemporary, well courtesy of Robo who posts these overhead maps of the parks and etc on the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board, here is one his overhead maps of the walkway from the Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary so you can see how close they are to each other.

Wow that's a fantastic map! Usually I'm left squinting at Google Maps to see the best pathway from MK to CR.

Are more of these maps found on the Theme Parks and Attractions Boards?

Also, I read somewhere (I think it was the Mom's Panel on the Official Disney website) that speaking with the hotel concierge about your early dining reservations will help. Apparently they will make sure a bus is there in the morning to pick you (and other early diners) up. Would this sound correct? I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask when I check in....

You can't walk to the CR from the TTC - its monorail but you can park at CR for breakfast -- just have your breakfast confirmation number with you and they will check you off. They may or may not give you a parking pass. Two weeks ago we had two different cars going to our breakfast and they told us where to park but did not issue passes or time limits.

So if we walked to TTC from SOG, we could monorail early enough for a 7:30 CM reservations?

I think the resort monorail starts running at 7:00am, but I honestly don't know if the early runs make a stop at TTC.

This whole resort bus direct to MK thing worries me a bit...

I always thought that the MK bus would take you to the TTC, and you had to take the monorail/ferry the rest of the way.

I ask because I was planning on taking the MK bus to the TTC, and then walking to the Poly for our 7:45AM Ohana breakfast.

Should we take the MK bus, walk to the Contemporary and get on the resort monorail instead?

Taking a cab just doesn't seem very magical to me (lame excuse, I know). I'd rather save that $20 for something else!

I think I'll just ask at the front desk when we check in for advice. They may know more about these alleged Character Breakfast buses...

We had a 7:05 am adr of CM one summer and we used Disney Transportation.
They dropped us off right at the CR:goodvibeswe were the only ones on the bus. We were waiting at 6:30 at the bus stop.

We have never had issues using Disney trans for early adrs.

Should add...don't think the MK goes to TTC.

And, one year they dropped us at the Grand for an early adr as well.
Save your cash.

We did take a taxi to the Poly once for breakfast, but that's because we wanted more sleep and you do have to be at the bus stop early for adrs. So, it was near the end of our trip and we didn't sleep was more important.
