Earl of Sandwich returning to DTD?? Maybe...

I realize this is OT, but why do people think it’s wrong for a newspaper to charge for its online content after a certain point? Many of them do: the New York Times and Chicago Tribune both have article-per-month limits.

Considering that the newspaper industry is fading fast, I don’t blame them...

ANYWAY, I hope the Earl is coming back (and I hope the ugly and ill-placed hotel never comes to fruition, honestly), but what a colossal disaster all of this has been for Disney, going all the way back to the failed Eastern Gateway.

Earl has a good sandwich for a good price, and that isn't something you can find around every corner at the resort. Our go to hotel is DLH, so we've stopped in many times for a take out lunch on our way back to the rooms midday. The main thing that pleases me about this whole story is that I can't imagine Earl would go to all of the expense and trouble of restaffing/reoperationalizing this site if it were for a short time. And that makes me hope that the whole darn misguided idea of cramming a huge hotel into the west end of DTD is toast.

I read this yesterday and jumped for joy!! I would be soooo happy to have it back! Looks like the hotel situation may be at an end so it may be happening!

When I try to read it, I get this lovely message "You have reached your 30-day article limit.
Subscribe and get unlimited digital access. Just 99 cents for the first four weeks." Umm.. don't think so....

Exactly! That happens to me pretty often. The LA Times do that as well...as does my local paper. Very annoying! LOL

I don't think it is wrong really. They are a business and their business is to sell newspapers (well advertising in the newspaper really). But I miss being able to read articles online especially on sites I don't frequent and only want to read the one article every 3 months.

Great news! We only visited EoS last trip. It was so convenient as we were staying at the DLH. I also liked that they were open later than most restaurants in DTD and we would mobile order on the way home from the parks in the evening for a snack in the hotel or by the pool. The holiday sandwich is :lovestruc:lovestruc

This would be great news! I ate at EoS for the first time on my trip last year (it was the first time I'd been to DL since EoS opened there) and I loved the holiday sandwich and was bummed that I wouldn't be able to have it again this year.
