OK, hoping someone has a grand answer for me here. ;)

I have an iPod which I love. That said I can't STAND the earbuds. Not just the ones that came w/ it but I've bought a couple other pairs but no go. I can't get them to stay in well and even when they do my ears are sore later. Next I bought the ones that hook over the top of your ears but they're not comfy either although at least they mostly stay on. Does anyone else have this problem or am I a weirdo?

I don't know what else to buy. What I really want is a big pair of the noise reducing Bose ones but those aren't good for exercise stuff.

Thanks!

Our audiologist can make custom molded earbuds for iPods. You may want to check around your area.

The Apple earbuds don't stay in my ears either.

I've actually found a pair of white, Sony earbuds, that are shaped a little differently, and are a tad smaller, and now DS and I fight over who gets them. (The Apple earbuds don't stay in his ears either). I will post the model number of them when I get home, if you'd like. They were not expensive either.

I'm with you. Earbuds just don't stay in my ears. I have very small ears so usually they are just too big for me. Sorry I can't help you find a pair. I've tried sporty ones, cheap ones, expensive ones...with no success. I gave up years ago trying to find ones I could use.

They don't stay in my ears, either, and often make my ears hurt. I have resorted to using my iHome more so I can still listen. I bought earphones for my kids because they were having trouble with their buds, too.

I got DH the Bose In ear headphones for Christmas and he loves them. They were a bit expensive than your usual pair, but they are made wonderfully and have three adjustable pads you can put in.

I got my kids JVC Gumy brand for Christmas. They were highly rated on amazon and a 2 pack was only $16 or so at BJ's.

The individual(s) that invented those stupid earbud things should have their **** kicked clear to the moon! ARGH!!

My ears are weird too...

Earbuds just don't stay put..... Neither did the cell phone earpiece thing...

I have a featherweight set of Sony headphones (they literally weigh almost nothing....) yes they go over your head but i sware by them for me.

They work great and stay on. I bought mine for a little under $10 at Best Buy but other places may have them too.

I hate earbuds. They don't stay in my ears unless you wedge them in and then they HURT. Santa brought a very nice oldstyle set of earphones and I am a happy camper.

depending on the earbuds you buy they sometimes come with cushions that you can switch out to a smaller or bigger size.

My earbuds always fall out or are uncomfortable. I hate them.

Hmmm..My biggest beef with the earbuds that came with my Ipod was the sound quality. They were ok, but the bass was really missing and I just wasn't loving them. So for Christmas my DH bought me a pair of Phillips noise-cancelling "Surround Sound" earbuds, and they are great. At first when I tried them the guitar sounds from the ipod were kind of "mushy" for lack of a better word. So I fine tuned the Eq on the actual iPod and now I'm a happy camper. They stay put even while I jog!

I own the same pair & swear by them. I can't stand earbuds & for the price of the ones above, they have pretty decent sound quality. I ended up buying a couple more pairs for my kids because they hate the earbuds too.

Glad to know that I'm not the only one who can't stand earbuds. They always fall out of my ears and my ears end up sore after about an hour.

The earbuds are the #1 complaint about an IPOD. I got a Sony set that clips over the ear that I like much better.

No, you're not alone. I DETEST earbuds, all kinds. About the only headphones that work for me are my tried-and-true Sony ones with the headband that goes over the top of your head (though I like that aspect of it 'cause it helps keep my hair out of my face!)-- they're the same as the ones that used to come with Walkmen back in the day, go inside the ear, etc. About the only place that carries them anymore is Target, at least in my experience. I really tried to like the earbuds when I got my first mini because I thought they just looked cooler, but they won't stay in my left ear and they KILL my right ear. I even got these little extension thingies that attach to the regular earbuds and are supposed to enhance the audio, too (but mainly got 'em thinking the extenders would help them stay in my ears), but even they didn't work.

ETA: I just read some of the other responses, and the ones pictured in goofyforlife's post are the same ones I use. I love 'em!

Have your audiologist make a custom made pair. I can't use normal earbuds due to the size of my ear canal.

Can't use earbuds (fall out of my ear becasue they can't go in very far at all). Don't like the things that clip on your ears (my ears are shaped kinda funny, and the clip-on things hurt bad!). I have to use old school headphones. Sorry if I'm out of style!

I have the same issue, so I bought these:

Sony Fontopia MDR-EX51LP
They also come in white, if that's your thing. Plus, there are lots of different brands that make ones like them and probably sound much better, but these are doing well for me now with my Zune (the earbuds that came with it also don't work for me; they're almost exactly like the iPod's).

I also have the over the head style shown on the previous page, but the bass sucks.
