My DS5 gets really freaked out when he hears loud noises. Is there any kind of ear protection (besides earplugs) we can use if the rides, fireworks, etc. are too much for him? Thanks!

My DS 8 is autisic and does not like loud noises. He will not wear ear plugs. On our last trip to WDW he used his discman and listened to music. This seemed to work for him. By the end of the trip he would sometimes take of the headphones and listen to the show.

I'm not sure where you might look for these, but they might be useful. When DS had an MRI they put these little cup things over his ears instead of traditional ear plugs. They called them "Teletubby" ears because they were bright yellow. Perhaps the Radiology folks at your local hospital could tell you where to find them? They just fit over the child's entire ear so you don't have to insert anything into the ear canal.
