This is our first trip to WDW (I've been to DL a time or two 15 to 20 years ago as a child). It is myself, DH, and DS who will be 8.5 months old.

Do you guys recommend getting DS some ear plugs? What kind and where did you get them?

I took my guy at 9 mos.

He slept through fireworks, explosions at the HS stunt show, rides, shows, whatever, with no ear plugs. Once he was asleep, he wasn't going to wake up until he was ready.

Anyway, I know I didn't answer your question, but you might not need 'em. I'd check babies r us though.

I'm looking into this for my DS, too. He'll be 14 months old when we go in September. I've heard Walgreens and Rite-Aid have something designed for little one's ears (i guess smaller than regular earplugs), but I haven't been there to investigate.

We took my youngest at 14m and he slept through loud sounds.

BUT, if you want some good ear plugs I can deff send suggestions. My guy had tube put in a few weeks ago, so I had to buy some. If you go to Target Greatland/Super Target (and maybe regular target, but we dont have one here) and go to the Health And Beauty section and look for ear plugs there are some there that are BRIGHT ORANGE and are made for kids and are waterproof. Those have worked great for my little guy.

I would be careful if baby can get the earplugs out of his ears - they could become a choking hazard.

We brought our youngest to WDW when he was 5 mos. Before our trip, I asked our ped about loud noises, fireworks, etc and if we should take any precautions. He said we didn't need to take any precautions, baby would be fine. DS slept through fireworks and the LMA stunt show at HS.

I never used ear muffs for my kids at Disney but actually just ordered 2 pairs for my kids 15months and 3 on amazon.com My dad takes them on the lawnmower sometimes and we are going to an air show at the end of summer. They are called Peltor Kids ear muffs and have great reviews. Just Google them or check out amazon.com They are for babies to age 7 (not newborn I don't think)

I think earmuffs might be a little too hot since it's going to be like 90 degrees. Sounds perfect for anyone going in the winter though :thumbsup2

I think I will bring ear plugs for my DS for Sept. He will be 13 months old. He is very sensitive to loud noises and I would like to see the fireworks (and maybe stunt shows). I was planning on getting the bright orange ones to keep the water out for swimming since I know they are safe for kids.
