Eagles' Wing Ministries

Is anyone familiar with Eagles' Wings Ministries? My cousin joined them as a missionary in September and sent us a letter with what she's been doing for them.

The thing is, to me, a practicing Catholic, who believes she has a strong bond with Jesus, the group seems like a cult. The things that she said that they want to do for Israel sound good on paper, but she mentioned that she feels so sorry for the kids who live in Israel because they live in constant fear of being killed. WTH?

I've spoken to some people with whom I've worked about life in Jerusalem. They told me that it's no different than living in NYC or LA, etc... as there are good parts of town and bad parts of town and you just learn to avoid the bad sections. But, my cousin's letter (she's never been to Israel) alluded to the fact that it is just a hotbed war zone.

Another thing I don't understand is, why is a Christian organization so concerned with freeing Israel and working with the Jews? Are they trying to convert Jewish people? I just don't get it. She said that she traveled to NYC to pray in an abandoned Synagogue.

Her whole letter just worries me. Oh, and she did ask us for money, too.

So, are they a legitimate group, or do they just prey on "ultra" Christians?

Do they have a website? I just googled them and came up with a variety of different organizations with the same name.

I have a question for "webbies". I've never heard of the ".to" group of sites, what is it for? Is it similar to ".org"?

A site with the extension .to is from Tonga.

I hadn't thought about it until you mentioned it so my staff and I looked it up.

Tonga? I think that would be an answer in itself. Not that all non-US based charities are bad, but most countries don't have the tax exempt charity profit laws of the US. I wonder where their $$$ actually goes?
