My daughters friend has become an eagle scout, she was invited to his celebration but will be out of town. I think it would be nice to give him some small token to acknowledge the acomplishment.
Any ideas?

The Boy Scouts themselves sell many Eagle themed plaques, etc., etc., but they are kinda' pricey.

Maybe a nice figurine of a Bald Eagle??

BTW, send the kid congrats from me. Many people do not realize what a BIG thing making Eagle Scout really IS!

A friend gave our son a keychain with the eagle scout symbol on it. He still uses it many years later. See if there is a boy scout store in your area, you can find some inexpensive things.

DH and his two brothers and cousin are all Eagle Scouts. The cousin just became one this year. We bought him a nice Case pocket knife in red, white and blue. He loved it.

I don't see the one we got, but here is another patriotic version of the knife.

I made Eagle... man I guess it was 6 years ago!!! But from an Eagle's stand point a pocket knife that you can carry with you everyday is something that they will carry for the rest of their life. I would suggest anything in a metal casing that can be engraved. www.spyderco.com has some great knives and that's what I recieved for my award from the Troop. I honestly haven't carried it because it means that much to me, it's kind of like a retirement gold watch! I hope that helps

www.scoutstuff.org is the official website for Boy Scout items.

My son achieved the Eagle Scout Rank a year ago. Some of the gifts he received were a knife as well as an Eagle bookmark, which he really treasures, Eagle tie tack, etc. He also got an Eagle blanket throw, which he takes on camporees.

Other gifts were photo frames with eagles on it, as well as hiking, canoeing, outdoors frames. These were my favorites.

Thank you all for your great suggestions!!
I will pass along the congratulations and congratulations to all of you !!

I'd recommend a 2004 US "Silver Eagle" $1 coin. They can be had from any local coin shop and are less than $10.
