I just booked a rental car from E-Z Rent-A-Car for this Sunday through Tuesday in Orlando. I have never used them before I have always used Alamo but they were 1/2 the price. Now I'm nervous. I read someplace else where they have hidden fees which then jack the price up. Anybody have any experience with them and would you recommend using them. It's not too late for me to book with Alamo.

I'd never imagine bringing copies of my insurance policy or cards when I go to rent a car. I rent all the time for personal and business and I'm not being paid to do the work of a rental agency (ie. Hertz). There is also the part that there have been many instances reported to BBBs (I'm not a fan of BBBs in most cases because they often side more with the company) and reviews about hard up sells on insurance, failure to deliver vehicles if the class booked is sold out (but higher end models are available) and failure to allow a rental unless insurance is purchased.

This is just insulting that a rental company would EVER recommend people make double bookings, although considering you are recommending that the person double book with another agency I guess that makes it "okay" :sad2:.

8/2010 A review of consumer complaints shows a pattern by the company regarding damage to vehicles upon return after rental. Consumers state that the company does not do a walk-through at time of rental and often not during the return process. After the fact, consumers advise they are being charged for various dents or scratches that did not occur while they were in possession of the vehicle. Most consumers request that the company refund unauthorized charges to their credit cards.

I did finally search online for reviews and there were more negative reviews than positive ones. I also checked out the BBB website after reading a review that said they reported them. They had 59 complaints in the last 36 months. I decided it wasn't worth what appears to be a savings and booked with Alamo as I have in the past. I never have a problem with them. I never even got an e-mail from EZ so I have to dig out the confirmation that I printed so I can cancel. Cheaper isn't always better:thumbsup2

EZ (and also L&M and Payless and perhaps a few others) reserve the right not to rent to you if you decline their collision coverage and also don't have collision on your own car back at home.

This is stated in their rules (policies).

Always been vary happy with Enterprise & hey they pick you up. They are now located in a hotel up the street from Downtown Disney. Always wait until less then a week before in summer to rent and have gotten very good rates. This year I think it was a little over $150 for a week in early Aug.

Just my $.02
