E Tickets were the best!
Before the parks were one price gets all, one had to pay for a coupon book full of "Tickets" that you presented at the entrance door to a specific ride.
The "E" ticket got you an any ride you wanted reguardless of the ticket value posted to enter the ride.
It was allways the coveted ticket of choice and the one, one used to get on the best rides as opposed to say The Mad Hatter, Mr Toads Wild Ride, Mission to the Moon, Swiss Family Tree House or one of the Main Street Car or Horse rides all of which required A, B, or C ticket values as I recall.
At the time they were used, the DL park entrance fee was around $7 to $10 or so for the night ( this was the mid to late 60's ) and then you bought different priced ticket books full of several different combinations of these tickets. You could buy a book full of E tickets and use them anyware but it would have been a waste of money, to me as a kid, to use them on the "kiddie" rides.
Pirates, HM, The Matterhorn and Space Mountian. Maybe The Submarine ride or CoP but never Dumbo or the long ago ride, I forget the name, but you rode in a boat, went around a storybook type course and entered a Giant Whale's mouth. Man that was scarry but then again I was only 5 or 6.
