I'm old enough to remember when cost of admission to Disney World was a bit less than it is today.

I'm also old enough to remember when enjoying a ride / attraction may have required a ticket above the cost of Park admission.

Some things were 'included' with Park admission. Less costly tickets were 'A-tickets'; most expensive rides & attractions required 'E-tickets'.

In recent years, Disney World made some similar distinctions in their Fast Pass system with Tiers & Virtual Queues, albeit, at no additional cost.

Apparently, the Fast Pass system is coming to end, and will seemingly be replaced with some type of pay-for-play - Genie & Lightning Lane.

I'm simply the curious sort who would like knowing your expectation of this new cost.

How much do you think it will cost for an E-ticket ride?

Feel free to comment about whether or not you are willing to pay the additional cost.

For the record:
While I never want to pay more, my family is lucky to be able to afford add-ons like Dessert Parties, Late-Night Parties, and Toy Story breakfast, etc. that gained access above and beyond a Park ticket.

Even prior to the announced changes, Universal has become our new add-on.

I wasn't sure if the question was how much do you think they will cost or how much you are willing to pay so I put other. Unless they reduce the cost to get into the park a lot, I'm not paying for a fast pass. We rarely used them when they were free, I'm certainly not paying for one. I have no problem standing in line.

Moderator,

Another Thread on similar topic that included Rumors has been on the main Strategy page for days.

Not sure why this got moved.

No incentives for resort guests? Shame on disney

We don't know this to be true. This was only a preliminary announcement with few details, and lots of "more details later" language. I fully expect that, at the very least, Deluxe and DVC Resort stays will receive some perk here.

Sounds like one of the on-site resort perks is that the individual LL pass will be available for purchase at 7am whereas other park guests will need to be in-park to buy the Individual LL's. Sounds like a good way to capitalize on those who miss out on RotR BG at 7am can buy the LL pass at 7:01am.

Ironically just recently RotR queue was opened for the first time. Boarding Passes not needed. We shall see how this all pans out.

I'm afraid this is the final straw for us.

I hear that all the time that "Disney used to have paid E-Ticket rides and books", but the actually park admission tickets were much more affordable then before the ticket books ended in 1982. Years of park price increases well above inflation (In 1981 an admission ticket cost $9.50, adjust for inflation to today's value that is about $28, and in 1983 when all rides were included at no extra charge a ticket was $17 which is about $45 adjusted for inflation), the elimination of Magical Express and magic bands (I go to Disney to escape, not be tethered to my phone all day), the constant addition of high priced "after hours" events that cut into park time for regular ticket holders most nights of the week, the astronomical increase in WDW resort rates, and now Genie+ making our $1,400 tickets for 9 days in November like 3rd class tickets that now need about $300 more to be second class tickets and probably $15-20 per ride up to two rides a day to reach first class status (which may be the only way to actually ride RotR).

Enough is enough. Honeymoon was WDW and Disney cruise in 2004, engagement was at DL in 2003, and numerous DL trips and WDW trips over the years. Disney was always a magical escape that we have been willing to pay more for, but there is a limit, and this is it for us. We are asking Disney to refund our November tickets and vacation. It is so sad that Bob Chapek and Disney are actively working so hard to destroy Walt's magic.

Premier Access in Paris is roughly $8-18 per ride USD so I suspect the flex price for Lightning Lane will be on par with that…..

limit 2 rides per day and you do not have to pay the $15 for genie to do this so for example you could go to animal kingdom for the day pay to play for FOP but standby everything else

I just cancelled our April trip this morning. we have gone 5 times since 2014 and this was the final straw. so many things that used to be included that made the trip "magical" have been taken away, I will now take my hard earned money elsewhere. It really is a shame, it's not like Disney is a cheap vacation to begin with. so yes, I have decided it is no longer for us

I hope all resort guests get some sort of perk. Staying onsite really has lost the magic. There are so many more affordable and better options offsite now.
Disney may be shooting itself in the foot here unless they incentivize onsite stays.

We get a DAS for my son and noticed they are changing how they do that as well. If it is 5-15 dollars to get us ahead in a specific line and we are on the verge of a massive meltdown we will pay. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m hoping DAS is easier to use with the app. I’m looking forward to it personally. Now if it turns out I could plaid shirt for a day cheaper than all this we might just do that. We can only wait a max 20 minutes in a line.
