This is the first time we are using e-tickets. I feel pretty dumb about them. So you can check-in online before you leave for the airport, right? That sounds easy enough. But what about when you are ready for the return trip back home and you don't have access to internet? Do you need to check-in in advance? Really how does it all work?

Yes, you can check-in online before you leave. I always check-in as early as possible - 36 hours before departure. (That way I have a better chance of changing seats if I want.) As for the return if you don't access to the internet just check-in at the airport. It's pretty painless!

Another thing to consider is when checking in with the E-ticket line at airport on way home, be sure to have a form of ID with each person travelings own name on them, in example, you have to have either a frequent flyer card, or charge card for each ticket with that persons name on it to put into the machine provided. You can do it without this but it takes a bit longer.

That's great for the adults, but for the kids?

I guess we'll just have to go stand in line.

When we travel with our 2 kids we never have to have ID for them at the E-checkin. Only one adult puts in the ID and does the check in for all 4. You don't have to stand in the regular line just because you have kids.

Thanks for the info. Are the machines something like free-standing kiosks near the NWA counter?

Kiosks and MSP has a whole bank of them and if you have checked luggage you have a special line to just dump them off with a NWA person.

Kiosks at MCO too but not sure on the dedicated line there. It's painless and actually pretty straightforward.
