E.T. the ride.

Hmmmm, now that you mention it the end of E.T. reminds me of a '70s Sid and Marty Krofft show...kinda like H.R. Pufnstuf. And indeed Sid & Marty have admitted to using some heavy drugs while working on that stuff. ;)

I'm sorry that your first ride on Figment was on the acid trip version. It used to be a sweet, wonderful ride until they totally gutted and destroyed it and turned it into the travesty it is today a few years back (ya think I'm a little bitter?).

actually it used to be more of a travesty, then they improved it slightly by adding figment back and changing some of the ride.

Yeah...I remember the "middle" version...although thanks to therapy, the memories usually only surface now in nightmares.

So, it wasn't just me?

Sometimes I feel bad for thinking some of the "classic" disney rides are boring and hokey.

Loooove the Sid and Marty Krofft shows! As a tike, I spent many a fabulous 1/2 hr. watching The Bugaloos and H.R. Pufnstuf! (I even had a Bugaloos lunch box :rotfl: ).

Sorry for thread hijack. Just had to share!! :)

i think this is my favorite ride ever built. I was just thinking the other day, I would lose it if I found out it was going to be destroyed. They removed the one here in CA, and I was so excited to find out it was still in FL when I went on vacation. Rode it over and over.

any one else?

I agree with you 100%. Have always loved the E.T. Adventure. I never got the opportunity to ride the version out in California, but have done the one in Fla multiple times each visit to the park. Universal would be foolish to remove this classic.

Me and my boyfriend back in 1990 were some of the few that visited Universal Studios in Orlando before the entire park was finished. They had a few rides open, etc.. I do still have our tickets from that day. Jaws, E.T. are the big rides left. I like for some nostalgia to stay at the parks reminding for some, where it began.

The middle version is the first time I rode it, it was awful indeed. Though my grandparents had recorded the original ride and what I missed. The current one is still abit :-/ but its much better than the first time I rode haha.

This is one of the greatest non thrill rides ever. The queue is incredible and the ride is amazingly trippy. Also, I have never told the travel agent my real name, so there's the excitement of having a new name every time I ride.
